Keith Hernandez and Mattingly are similar career players. Keith was far superior defensively, Mattingly hit a few more HRs in short Yankee porch. Neither should be in. Garvey isnt in.
Murphys .265 average removes him for me.
Sheff hit 500 Hrs and had higher WAR than Mattingly...but I believe his numbers are also steroid fueled.
Jeff Kent has a real case. He was (other than Alomar) the 2nd Baseman of the era.
Sorry Fernando..I dont think 173 Wins gets you in.
Del Gado....very good player...not sure he is HoF but they did put McGriff in.
Clemens NO. Because he wont admit it and blamed his wife.
Bonds NO. He is guilty, wont admit it. Would consider him posthumously.
Same goes for ARoid....who got caught TWICE and cried his way into a job w/ MLB. Nope.
McGwire. NOPE. Not here to talk about the past like when he promised to help baseball clean it up but did nothing.
I truly think Jim Edmonds should get a serious look. He was great but got dropped because of a horrible first ballot.
I was always one who said Pete Rose belongs in the HoF posthumously. He refused to absolutely admit guilt while he was alive and therefore should not have received any benefits of the HoF. Thats over now, put him in.
