Five openings this time around:
1) AL North - Last season's Madison team. Inconsistent recent history. Been kicked around like a shelter dog. Nine different owners in the past twelve seasons. Bit of a restoration project. Will have the sixth pick in next season's draft.
2) AL East (1) - Last season's Hartford team. 37-season owner. Well-cared for team, but fell to 78-84 last season. Good foundation for success.
3) AL East (2) - Last season's New York team. Another one that's been kicked around a bit. Had a recent seven-season stretch of a different owner every season. Then two over the past five seasons. An improving team with some talent in the farm system. 51, 66, 73 wins in each of the past three seasons.
4) AL West - Last season's Vancouver team. Ready for a rebuild. Fell to 56 wins last season after many seasons of success. Has the #1 pick in next season's draft.
5) NL East - Last season's Montreal team. Won 87 games and took first place in the division. Previous owner had 32 seasons with the team and it's in decent shape. Averaged 83.75 wins over the past eight seasons.
