Battle of the Divisions w/ a Wildcard: Season I Topic

The concept is as follows. There will be 6 divisions. Each division will represent the current MLB division structure.

The goal is to run this league for 7 seasons with $150 worth of prizes at the conclusion to be distributed to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners after the 7th season. There is however no obligation to play in every season but there is obviously an incentive to do so.

Using the AL East as an example, you would build your team with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 players from the historical franchises of the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles (including the St Louis Browns), Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and Tampa Bay Rays. You must spend a minimum of $15m on players from each franchise. The wildcard is that you will have the option to fill out the remainder of your roster with players from the inactive franchises of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Terrapins. (there is no minimum nor max spend on the wildcard option) However, your highest salaried player MAY NOT come from the wildcard options.

During the next 5 seasons, you would rotate to each division until all of them have been played. The 7th and final season would allow you to bring your best team (your choice) to compete for the championship.

You may click on the hyperlinked team names to check franchise history. I tried to balance the wildcard options as best as possible given the talent pool in each division.
