As interest in this league has grown over the past several seasons, we only have three openings to fill this time. The reason owners are staying is it is competitive and fun, with no drama. Here is a snapshot of the opportunities available for this season:
Boston Bambinos (50-112) – 2nd Overall Pick: This franchise has struggled the past few seasons, finishing with more than 100 losses three out of the last four years. They have added some nice bats and gloves with recent draft picks and will be selecting near the top of this year’s draft, but this rebuild might have another season or two before this team starts contending. With the second pick this club is guaranteed to either get the best hitter or the best pitcher available!
Anaheim Dirty Halos (62-100) – 4th Overall Pick: Like the Boston franchise, Anaheim has struggled for the past several years. It has been a downward trend for five seasons since this club last reached the playoffs. The good news is they have added some high impact arms the last few years in the draft, so the pitching staff is rounding into shape. If they add a few bats to the mix this team will be tough to beat soon.
Florida Snitches (74-88) – 9th Overall Pick: So, all three teams available in this cycle have Top 10 picks in the draft! Your timing is perfect taking on this club as they were in a deep, long rebuild for several seasons, but in the last two, they have significantly improved. And a few key pieces have not yet made it to the Show… including a dominant SP as well as a couple of studs in the OF. The future is bright… and may not be that far off.
This league embodies the fun that its namesake, Bob Uecker, was known for. Come join the fun today!
