what is the latest in the season a player might come back and say "I might be interested after all by I want more money?"

If it makes any difference, in this case I want the player, not the type D pick, but this is a "probably won't sign" momma's boy.

Impossible to say. Unexpected things I've seen:

1/ A "probably won't sign" momma's boy sign the first offer, same as a "will sign for slot money" guy...

2/ A "questionable" guy decline the first offer and then mysteriously accept it a few days later with NO increase...

3/ A "considering another sport" guy decline my offer multiple (I can't remember how many) times and then accept an increase with only a few days left in the playoffs...

About the only thing you can count on is a "slot money" guy will sign for slot money. Everything else, I don't know if anyone knows the odds.

I don’t think there’s a point in the season where prospects will no longer sign. I’ve signed guys during and after the minor league playoffs.

if you really want your mother agent guy to sign, just keep making offers over and over, every change you get. As soon as he declines one, click the arrow icon in your inbox next to his message and make another offer. (To clarify: only make new offers if you get an actual decline, don’t do it if he’s still mulling over a previous offer). I’ve only really tried to sign mother agent guys 5-6 times, but I’m pretty sure all of them have eventually signed with me if I’m persistent. You may have to make 10-15 offers, and it may drag on past the end of the minor league season. Idk if this has helped or not; but once I know I won’t need the rest of my prospect budget, I increase the offer to give him every cent I have.

By the way, not sure if I’m reading your original post correctly, but if the guy declines the offer completely, he will never come back on his own and say he wants more money. That only happens if his most recent message is the one saying he needs time to think. In those cases he will always get back to you - ether to sign, decline, or ask for more money. It can take anywhere from a day to a week or real life time. Once the decline message comes, he’s done with you (unless you use the clicking the arrow trick).

Confirming BranchChief. I've signed draftees as late as during the World Series. There is no deadline.
