Kenesaw Mountain Landis is going into its 28th season of existence. We have had a strong core of owners for awhile now, and we are looking for a few more to keep us going for next season and beyond! Information on the openings are below. You can choose any city you want when you replace them.

Over half of KML's owners have been around for at least 10 seasons, and 2/3 have been around for at least 5 seasons. Since I've taken over as commissioner, our wait times between seasons have been minimal. So you can count on a great group of owners and not having to wait months between seasons if you join us!

We also have a 3-year, 180 win MWR (cannot have fewer than 55 wins in consecutive seasons) to help avoid ultra tanking.

We will be switching to the Universal DH for Season 28 and we also have a blog that I try to get 3-4 posts a season at least.

Current Openings:
AL North
Wichita (80-82)
A good team hovering on the cusp of being a great one, Wichita is a team that needs the right owner to get them to the next level. They have some talented players that can help get them there. 3B Roger Atchison is a rare combo of power and speed and is only 27 years old. CF Andrew Donovan is a solid lefty bat that can play anywhere in the field since he is a right-handed thrower. 2B Yovani Torres is a good two-way player who is consistently good at getting on-base. Their #1 SP Tomas Franco is good and only 28. In the minors, they have some decent prospects such as P Angel George, P Burch Lyles, and LF Vic Ferrer. They only have about $60 million in committed payroll before arbitration, so there's room to re-work this team how the next owner sees fit.

AL South
El Paso (84-78)
A team fresh off an ALCS appearance that has made the playoffs for 9 straight seasons, El Paso has been a well run franchise from an owner who was there for more than than a decade. The strength of the team is in their bullpen, and they have some excellent relievers in Walt Ratliff, and Raymond Branson. Offensively, they have 1B Brady Radinsky who is an OBP machine, solid two way C Sterling Abraham, and an excellent power hitter in CF Clay Hennessey who is a former gold glove winner and won the CF Silver Slugger this past season. Shane Blevins is a departing free agent. If he is able to re-sign that would help the next owner, but he will definitely be a Type A free agent. Their minors aren't stacked due to having great records over the last few seasons, but they have some potential ML players at the AAA level to supplement their roster including a couple prospects they picked up via trade last season. They only have about $55 million in committed payroll before arbitration, so they can reload and be a contender again this season. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to have a stable franchise to start from. They also have two 1st round picks, picks 20 and 22.

Texas (68-94)
A team in the middle of a rebuild, Texas is building for the future while still keeping some decent talent in the majors. They have some good hitters in the major including Bruce Dunn (career 0.879 OPS), Allie Hauser (career 0.915 OPS), and Emmett Walker (0.812 OPS last season). They need to do some work on their pitching staff although Hub Finley (3.59 ERA) and Francisco Ruiz (3.65 ERA) are good young pitchers for the organization. To work on the rebuild, Texas has the 6th pick in the draft, and have been active in the international free agent market in recent years so there shouldn't be as much investment needed to get that going. Some of their recent IFA signings include Lorenzo Peron and Al Melian and some recent top draft picks include 3B Orlando James, 2B Dean Varitek, and 2B Hector Mercado,

NL South
New Orleans (78-84)
A team built to win-now, New Orleans has a lot of talent to work with, but is coming off their worst year in awhile Their long-term owner unfortunately disappeared from all of his worlds, but he did leave some talent albeit some of it higher priced. Ricardo Guapo is an ace SP coming off a 19-4, 2.78 ERA season. Orber Mendoza is an elite reliever out of the pen. Their offense was very much focused on having high OBP guys which include LF Gil Arnold who has a career 0.375 OBP, 1B Timothy Buchholz who has a career 0.383 OBP, and C Al Romero with his career 0.404 OBP. There's enough talent to build upon and try and reload to get this team back to the playoffs.
