Here are the requirements/payouts, I am making them generous in hopes of enticing more action. Been in a few open leagues recently and the sameness of many rosters is annoying me, mwett may be gone but many of his cookies live on.

In an Open League, you must have a team WHIP for the season of below 0.92. That is ((H + BB) / IP) below 0.92. If it rounds up to 0.92 that is okay. 0.919999999 is okay, 0.9200001 is not. You must also win more than 70 games. Here are the payouts:

More than 70 wins: 1 free team
More than 81 wins: 2 free teams
More than 90 wins: 3 free teams
World Series Champion: 5 free teams

And here's even more: if you can beat my recent best WHIP of 0.87, the free team payout will double. In case someone is very close, that team allowed 1,312 H + BB in 1507.0 IP, so 0.8706038487060385.

So that's up to 10 free teams for the price of one.

This will be available for all Open Leagues starting before the end of January, that is the schedule is generated and locked before February 2027. Waiver Wire use is okay.

A couple fine print items:

- Multiple owners can win, but maximum payout is 30 total free teams over this time period, and maximum 15 per owner. I have a lot of free teams but not unlimited, and it's no fun if one owner claims all of them.

- Also, you can't just copy my entire recent roster. I recognize there are only so many pitchers you can use to be competitive for this, but if you enter the same 25 guys I did or something very similar, no payout. If you're worried you're too close to my roster, ask me first.

To show this is doable, here is my recent pitching staff on a team that won 87 games. We were leading the Wild Card for most of the season but faded down the stretch and lost a one game lead with two to play.

Had some fatigue issues early in the season after several 15 to 16 inning games so I cut Manaea and Shoemaker for Schwellenbach and from there had zero fatigue issues with 1287 innings, in fact Schwellenbach was miles under his allocation and only 2017 Verlander finished the season fatigued (I was planning not to use him again until the playoffs but felt I had to pull the trigger with the Wild Card slipping away).

I think this mark of 0.87 can definitely be beaten while still being competitive, as I didn't even use Petco with this team, instead going in the Astrodome to limit home runs a bit more.
