I took over a team last year that has no grads or walking, so I have zero available scholarships and only 20AP in RS1. Does 100 percent of my 20 stack up against a team dividing his AP among several recruits? In other words my attention is laser focused on one guy? Thanks

20AP isn't a lot. You can certainly land recruits with it, but you aren't at an advantage over many teams, Having more openings can be a better position, depending on how you are able to allocate your AP. It's largely situational, but there are situations where I put anywhere from 40-80AP on one guy.

Honestly, I wouldn't even consider trying to out recruit another D-1 school with 0 open scholarships, especially it's a high profile recruit.

Even if they start off with a balanced approach with APs, eventually if the recruiting battle is close, they are just going to ramp up the number of APs,
in order to try to get that player.

Minnesota correct? I'll be honest with you. The team you currently have would struggle to win at D-2, let alone D-1. I would hold off on recruiting until the following season when you have 6 open scholarships. No point of trying to get one mediocre freshman that will be in a class by himself his senior year.
