Game 91: Bob Tewksbury shuts out the Spectres for six innings, but Montreal explodes in the seventh, and scores 11 times over the final three frames, giving Alex Fernandez his sixth win with an 11-3 blowout. Jay Buhner has four hits.

Game 92: Joe Hesketh is brilliant for seven innings and get home runs from Eddie Murray, Ken Griffey Jr., and Jay Buhner as the Spectres win 4-1.

Game 93: Chuck Finley is mediocre but picks up his ninth win when the Spectres throw four on the board in the fifth inning and hold on for a 5-4 victory. Rick Aguilera gets his 25th save.

Monteal is off to Houston to face the Lone Stars (60-33).

Game 94: Rick Aguilera blows another save, allowing a home run to Barry Larkin in the bottom of the ninth, but Dennis Rasmussen gets the final out of the inning in his first appearance of the season. In the top of the 10th, Jay Buhner, who had homered earlier in the game, doubles and later scores on Brett Boone's single. Robert Kube throws a scoreless bottom half and the Spectres escape with a 7-6 win. Brady Anderson hits two home runs.

Game 95: Kevin Appier handcuffs the Spectres and Barry Larkin comes up with more late-inning heroics, singling home the deciding run in the 10th inning as the Lone Stars win 2-1.

Game 96: The Spectre bullpen fails again; Willie Blair allows two in the eighth and Barry Larkin once again singles home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th as the Lone Stars win 4-3.

Montreal comes home to face Atlanta.

Game 97: The playoff push cannot really afford losses to Atlanta, but that's just what we do in the opener, not scoring until the bottom of the ninth and dropping a 4-2 decision. Joe Hesketh (not-very fondly) recalls his first two starts of the season, as he allows only one run in six innings but gets the loss.

Game 98: Atlanta puts five runs across the plate in the sixth inning, but the Spectres chip away and chip away and finally win the game when Greg Gagne homers in the bottom of the ninth. Robert Kube gets the win in this 9-8 thriller.

Game 99: Trailing 3-1 after seven and a half, Montreal rocks Roger McDowell for five runs in the eighth and holds off the Bull Run, 6-3. Jay Buhner homers; Rick Aguilera gets his 26th save.

Montreal heads west to face San Diego.

Game 100: Another seemingly easy series gets off to a rough start as Walt Terrell (he of the 2-9 record) tosses seven shutout innings and the Leaguers take the opener 3-0 over Scott Erickson.

Game 101: Montreal finds its bats in the second game, collecting 13 hits and 10 runs as Alex Fernandez moves over .500 with a 7-6 record in a 10-3 win. Jim Gott even drives home a run. Ken Griffey Jr. drives in two, giving him 88 for the year.

Game 102: Shut down again by Kansas City, Joe Hesketh has yet another six inning, one run performance that is not rewarded. The Leaguers win the finale 2-1 behind Bob Welch.

Montreal hosts Cincinnati next.

Game 103: Rick Aguilera suffers his fifth blown save, allowing a game-tying single by Wally Joyner in the ninth inning. Jim Gott gets the last out of the inning, then throws a scoreless 10th when the Spectres go 1-2-3 in the ninth. With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Tony Phillips triples off Bob Scanlan. Brady Anderson singles him home and the Spectres win 3-2.

Game 104: ARGGGH. The erratic Montreal offense disappears completely, as Todd Stottlemyre throws a no-hitter. Cincy wins, 3-0.

Game 105: Luis Gonzalez' three-run homer highlights a six-run inning for the Stingers and they hang on for a 9-8 win despite a valiant comeback by Montreal (who scores seven runs in the final three innings).

We're headed to Los Angeles to face the 35-70 Looters.

Game 106: This one is quite the roller coaster. Montreal scores an "insurance run" in the top of the ninth, but Rick Aguilera and Dennis Rasmussen combine to allow two runs in the bottom half to tie the score at five (the tying runs scoring on a bases-loaded walk by Rasmussen). Tony Phillips leads off the 10th with a double and scores on Randy Velarde's single; the Spectres later get yet another insurance run on a double play ball off Ken Griffey Jr.'s bat. It proves useful as the Looters scores once in the 10th; Steve Olin finally gets the last out with runners at the corners.

Game 107: Montreal finally wins a game started by Joe Hesketh, but Hesketh does not get credit for the victory despite leaving the game with a 6-2 lead. Willie Blair implodes in the eighth, allowing four runs to cross the plate, and the Spectres need Greg Gagne's two-out bases loaded single in the ninth to walk away with an 8-6 win.

Game 108: Ken Caminiti has five hits and Chuck Finley allows only one earned run in seven innings to pick up his 10th win, 10-4 over the Looters. Brady Anderson and Eddie Murray hit home runs for Montreal.

We host St. Louis next.

Game 109: Tom Glavine continues his amazing season, beating the Spectres 6-4 to improve his record to 16-2 (1.97 ERA). Jay Buhner hits his 26th home run for Montreal.

Game 110: Scott Erickson keeps this a close game, allowing only one run in seven innings, but the Blue Storm scores twice in the ninth (the second run coming on a single by former Spectre Andre Dawson) and the Spectres can't respond, falling 3-1.

Game 111: Greg Maddux throws a three-hit shutout and the Blue Storm sweep Montreal with a 6-0 win. Maddux is now 18-1 (1.76 ERA). Scary team.

We head west to visit San Francisco next.

Game 112: Joe Hesketh's string of good outings comes to an end; Frisco's Rob Deer hits his 36th homer and drives home four runs as the 69ers crush the Spectres 10-5. Old nemesis Jose DeLeon gets the win for San Fran. Ken Griffey Jr. and Jay Buhner homer for the Spectres.

Game 113: Chuck Finley strikes out seven in five innings of work and the Spectres make short work of the Niners, 10-2. Ken Caminiti drives home three runs; Brady Anderson steals two bases.

Game 114: Frank Viola throws a complete-game two-hit shutout (and walks only one) as Frisco takes the series with a 4-0 win.

Montreal returns home to face the Bootleggers.

Game 115: The Montreal lineup strands too many baserunners and Steve Olin falters in extra innings, allowing two runs in the 10th to give Chicago a 6-4 win. Ken Griffey Jr. drives home three runs, giving him 99 for the season.

Game 116: Montreal hits seven doubles and Ken Griffey Jr. reaches the 100-RBI mark as the Spectres beat Chicago 8-2.

Game 117: Cal Ripken Jr. hits two of the three home runs off Joe Hesketh and drives in four runs as the Bootleggers take the series with a 6-2 win over Montreal.

The third round of divisional play begins with a trip to Pittsburgh to face the last place B-Collars.

Game 118: Eddie Murray is 4-4 with two doubles and a homer, but that is not quite enough to offset the B-Collar six-run explosion in the fifth off Chuck Finley, and Pittsburgh holds on for a 6-5 win.

Game 119: Eddie Murray keeps swinging a hot bat, driving in four runs and leading off a five-run ninth with his 14th home run, as the Spectres even things up with a 10-5 win. Rick Aguilera gets his 28th save.

Game 120: Eddie Murray is held hitless in five at bats, but the Spectres take the series with a 10-inning 3-1 win. Each team scores once in the first and then not again during regulation. Tom Edens gets the victory, his ninth of the season.

We host Philadelphia next.

Game 124: For the first time in five series, Montreal wins the opener, overcoming a disastrous ninth inning (in which Tom Edens and Rick Aguilera blew a six-run lead) to win in 10, scoring three times in that frame for an 11-8 victory. Jay Buhner, Ken Griffey Jr., and Tony Phillips all hit home runs for the Spectres.

Game 125: Montreal's lineup is stymied by y Steve Avery, who wins his 17th game, 3-1.

Game 126: Rick Aguilera is vicitmized again; New York scores four in the ninth to tie it and wins in the 14th when Ron Gant hits a two-run homer off Chuck Finley. Final score, 9-7.

Montreal heads to Atlanta to face the Bull Run.
