The Lakers are saving up the money for tissues when they get bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs.
That's the thing about the Lakers; while many other teams strive to make the Playoffs and consider it a successful season when they do, they Lakers are always disappointed when they don't win it all.  I guess those kind of lofty expectations are not unreasonable since they've made the Playoffs (a ridiculous and I'd have to believe unmatched in U.S. sports) 33 times the last 35 years.  Hate on people.  We could care less.   We're "so" used to it.

What a total BS comment.

sure it would - one word: Rubio

(also though older Gasol is the better player - of course age has to be considered but the need for a mentor for Rubio might outwiegh that consideration)
I agree that Gasol is better at the moment (although I don't think that will be the case within 2 seasons) and that age need to be considered.  As far as Rubio, I think he is overhyped.

Gasol isn't better than Love at this moment.

Sure he was in years past.....but not anymore.

This reply shows so much jealousy, I'm surprised it didn't print green.  Hate away!  Best NBA franchise ever, with the facts to back that claim up.

is there more to the game than X/Y?

Did you watch the LA  playoffs?  Pau was terrible.  Anyhow it's about value and no one would value Pau over Love right now.
12/19/2011 1:38 PM
And weren't we talking about Pau as opposed to Marc?

Love probably does have more value because the gap now isn't huge and he's so much younger, but evaluating Pau based on one bad playoff run is flawed, to say the least.

Gasol put up 19 and 10 as a second option on a good team and plays defense. Love is all about stats, but somehow that's okay if you're white.

Yeah Love is all about his stats.

Because when you are in the middle of a 31 point 31 rebound performance you are obviously an insane ball hog when you add in 5 assists too.

Love is renowned for stealing rebounds from his teammates to pad his stats...I don't see how the fact that he gets assists sometimes negates that.
12/19/2011 6:39 PM
I thought he was talking about the scoring stuff....I don't care about "stealing" rebounds.  When your number one job is to get rebounds you get all you can and sometimes you take a couple from a teammate.  It happens in the heat of battle, it did when I played and it will happen after I die.
