So here we are:
1. rangerup still seems to think liquidating his team before he bails out on a league is somehow an acceptable behavior (I will not call it a "strategy").
2. Not one other person has come to his defense.
3. rangerup is a dude not to be trifled with. His code of HBD ethics is a superior beast, indeed. It certainly trumps all else.
4. Mike is the HBD master of the clever retort. He is also an astronaut-cowboy. But ranger is a wolf and he knows that wolves eat astronaut-cowboys.
5. I am the Walrus, btw. Coocoocachoo.
6. ranger has an affinity for taking very successful teams. He has 6 teams right now. #1 was a 90 win team when he inherited it. #2 he took over in Y2. It had won 80 games in the initial season. He's turned it in to a reliable 100-win team. Kudos. #3 had 10 straight years between 104 and 125 wins, then it dropped to 96 wins the year before he took it over. #4 averaged 79 wins in the three years before he took it over. He led it to 57-66-71 win seasons. Is 24-26 currently. #5 was a losing team when he took it over, and he had two lousy seasons before he turned it into a winner. Kudos here. #6 had a 19-season streak where it had been below 90 wins just 3 times (82, 86, 88) then ranger got it. He won 63 games in his first year, before rebounding to 86 this year.
ranger, you've turned one team into a winner. You've inherited 4 winning teams, 3 of which have continued to win at a somewhat reduced streak. You inherited one losing team and it has continued to lose. I'm no expert, and you may well be a better GM than I.....but your modus operandi is certainly to grab dynasties (generally) and then (admittedly) to sell it off eventually and let somebody else have the dregs.
So, you benefit from managers who don't engage in your "HBD ethics" but don't extend their largesse to others.
Do what you want but at least be man (or wolf) enough to admit that you benefit from actions you don't espouse.
Not the GM you are,
