How do people feel about their teams so far?

I have no deadball pitchers, no speed to put at the top of the order, and picked up my first rp in round 11. Otherwise, things are great!

I don't know what to think about my team, but I do know that I had a bad draft strategy, especially in the early rounds. In the early rounds I tried to draft players I might actually get. So I have Toad Ramsey and Jack Taylor. With this draft paradigm there is very little downside to picking obvious players and keep doing it until you get one. For example, pick Babe Ruth, then Christy Mathewson, the Addie Joss, then Lou Gehrig. That's what ledfoot did and he got Gehrig while I got Toad.

I don't think it's that simple. It's really about knowing your opponents and being able to predict who they would take. I.e., if I can predict that you will pick Babe Ruth in the first iteration, I'll take Christy Mathewson before you have the chance (which is what I should have done rather than trying for WJ)

I agree that getting blocked is not so bad as long as you're the only person standing in the way of someone else having him. Walter Johnson and Johnny Mize were picked by so many owners that in an ideal world some of them would peel off to get another player or block someone else.

Our pace seems to have bogged down a bit since the early rounds. Oh well, I contributed a bit to that, Saturday morning I think.

I think we're waiting for juice to get home from work.

Bah! These people that work normal hours....

I have an offense that's somewhere between scrappy and putrid, and I need some more starting pitching...

But if I get to the 7th with a lead, y'all might be in trouble.

I can't believe somebody else claimed Pete Conway. I thought I was a lock to get him. He's absolutely crushing it in the other "blind draft" league. Currenlty 22-4. Next most wins by a pitcher is 15 (Seward).

I never learn. Conway 0-2 since posting this, with 11 runs allowed in 9 innings. Deleting original post to reverse the jinx.
