Top 5 reasons to join this:
1.) It's incredibly fun - great themes, camaraderie, owners
2.) It's the seminal SLB event each year. Many of us start looking forward to the next one as soon as the previous year's championship ends
3.) You will absolutely get better at this game by playing. Having to build 6 different teams under very different theme rules (and then another 6, if you're fortunate enough to make it to round 2) will improve your understanding of value, your drafting skill, not to mention your general knowledge of baseball history.
4.) The thrill of checking the updating standings every day...the exhilaration of a 12-6 day, the "throw your laptop out the window" angst of a 4-14 day...it's two months of roller coaster riding that represents the best of why many of us play this game.
5.) The "team building strategies" thread is BY ITSELF worth the time, effort, and cost of entering. I encourage EVERY participant to write their own entry and read the others. Some are funny, some are analytical, most will make you better just by reading them, and all of them are worth a read.

Bonus reason: the WISC Lingo thread (disclaimer - I started it). Lots of owners have contributed humorous additions - hopefully many of you will as well.
I'd like to see those. Do you have a link to those forums?

I found the Lingo page. Can't find Team Building Strategy thread.

That would be because it hasn't been started yet. Won't begin until the season starts, so as not to give any thoughts away to those final roster moves. If you search the WISC forum with a time date of "All" you can find the amazing write-ups from previous years.
