One very big deal in the draft center, is that games played block, and the secondary positions. Many players here can be used at multiple positions. Setting the games played at zero, checking the secondary box gives you a lot of options. Lots of very useful players are hiding in plain sight. Search by salary range, PA, whatever you want...

What I am noticing is that fatigue varies based on how many innings the guy threw in real life. For instance, I have a mopup guy who only threw like 34 real life innings. If he pitches 2 innings it seems to take like 5 days before he gets back to 100, while other pitchers can pitch 2 innings and still be at 100.

In Diamond Mind they have durability ratings (EX-VG-AV-FR-PR) for each pitcher as a starter and as a reliever. So a guy who only pitches 67 innings could have an EX durability as a starter if he for instance started 8 games with 7 CG in real life. His durability game to game is not affected by his short season, but instead he will have a very high injury rating, which is what his real life season was like. He was an ace at the start of the season who got hurt in May and was out for the season after that.

uh..he gave up 7 runs in 1.2 inning...that had something to do with it. Set his "call bullpen" to 1 and he will be less likely to be pulled, but 7 runs in 1.2 innings might get anyone pulled regardless of his call bullpen setting
He got pulled, but 54 pitches, why would he be at 100% for the next game?

Relievers in the same game who threw fewer pitches than 54 are shot for a couple of days at least.

It’s based on total pitches thrown for the season and his RL allotted seasonal pitches. So, after 54 pitches and 4 games in, he’s not projecting to eclipse his seasonal total, so he’s still at 100%.
That's horseschit. Season total should not come into play at all 4 games into the season. A guy throws 54 pitches, he's done for the next 2-3 days, PERIOD.
This isn’t based off real life - it’s a “what if” simulation. You really should read the beginner threads contrarian posted early on.

guys are given a number of pitches for a season based on what they did in RL. You get to then use those pitches how you want? Want 1913 Walter Johnson to pitch in relief for 30-40 pitches every game? Do it. Want him to start every other day and throw 80 pitches? Do it’s wanna start him every 3 days and throw 120-140 pitches. Do it. No one is telling you how to play the game but you can’t be mad at how the game is played lol

Fatigue has changed a lot over the years. You used to be able to use the pitchers innings at any point of the season, so guys would draft low IP studs like Bob Milaki and Jack McDowell and then have them start every game of the playoffs and throw complete games. It was extremely broken. As profcake hinted, there’s a lot of reasons why things are the way they are, maybe ask why they’re like that instead of complaining and thinking you know better than the people who created the code for the game or those who’ve been playing for years.

this doesn’t mean I think the game is perfect, but at least try to understand why things are the way they are

If it's not based off real life then why aren't I in there as a player? Put me in, Bruce Grossberg, an A+A+ short stop with a slash of .436/612/.963 for my one and only season. 265 runs scored, 94 HR, 211 RBI.

Of course it's based off real life. Every player in the sim represents their simulation of a real life player's season. It's the great lengths they are going to trying to dictate to you how you have to use these players that is the problem.

?And I certainly can be annoyed at how they designed the game. The basketball game is even worse with fatigue. A guy who played 312 minutes all season that's an average of just 3.8 minutes per game. If you use that guy for 9 minutes one game, he'll be fatigued for the next game. That's phucking insane. No NBA player is ever gonna be fatigued 2-3 days later because he played 9 minutes last game.

I guess what I meant to say is the game wasn't created to mimic real life stats. It was made to be "what if"

No, the "What If" part is because you can play Babe Ruth and Roger Clemens in the same game. Or you can have Joe DiMaggio and Aaron Judge on the same team. Or you can have Cy Young pitch to Barry Bonds.

The game is supposed to give us realistic stats based on what they did in real life, adjusted for home parks and eras.

"We analyze the performance of past and present players and teams utilizing every stat we can get our hands on to predict the outcome of a wide-variety of "what if?" scenarios. The purpose is not to give realistic stats based on what they did in real life, please share where you believe they have stated that?

The "What if" can be whatever I want. What if Pedro faced Ruth? What if I had 9 Babe Ruth's on one team? What if everyone one of my hitters had iron gloves, but amazing range? What if I used Eck and Mariano as openers and Maddux and Pedro as relievers? What if Aaron Judge played in Coors? etc. None of that is based on realism - and as I said in my first post, if you're looking for realism this isn't going to be the site for you.

Next game we face ...
'04 J. Weimer (L) 0-2, 4.97 ERA

We have Frank Corrigan - 0-0. 0.00 ERA in 3.3 innings in relief.

I'm giving Cochrane his first day off, against the lefty. Yogi will catch.

Dude this isn't Twitter. Thank Ussen!

Why do folks think the entire populated world cares about their minute by minute activities on a daily basis!!???

I'll NEVER understand the EGO involved with this new social media BS!!!
PLEASE, STOP with the attempts to turn WIS into some stupid Twitter type social interaction network.

Maybe you should stick to reality.
It's less confusing for many folks.
I've never been on Twitter. If you don't like my posts, why read this thread?
