I think it has to be pointless speculation. Girardi is a young man. I'm sure he knows, sooner or later, the Yanks will fire him. The Cubs job will be available then. For the most part, he's been left alone in NY. Not much meddling at all. So he's got pretty much unlimited resources, ownership that's mostly hands-off and a fan base that will blame A-Rod and AJ for any failures. Chicago isn't less of a hotbed as far as expectations. But the talent isn't there and there no reason to believe it will be.
