Sounds like flyers are offering the 8th pick and either Carle or Versteeg for 'Rado's 1st round pick (#2 overall).

THAT would be awesome. I am still against trading Carle, though, but the Flyers have enough depth to get it done, and as Paul has shown, he will do as he has to do to make the team better.

I will say this:  it speaks to the depth of the Flyers at the forward position that they could trade away not just two top-six forwards, they traded away their very top two forwards... and the fans are okay with it, regardless of whatever personalities were involved or how much they got back.

I don't believe there's ANY other team in the NHL or even in any other sport that could do something comparable.

Then again, it also speaks to my prediction of a copycat mentality that I spoke of with a friend last week - the Bruins won a cup without a true #1 center on the roster.  Now watch a bunch of other teams try to win with that style, goaltending, D, and 12 swarming forwards.

Didn't think it would start happening right away.

Pretty good assessment damag, exactly what I've been thinking too.  And for all those Philly fans out there, just think where you might be if my pre-season prediction of the Flyers making a play for Thomas had come true....

Crazy. But the stamkos rumor has some legs to it. And the Flyers can afford him. TB can't - they as an organization lost between $20-30 mil in net income last season..... with a deep playoff run.

Leino might be asking too much ($4 mil) which he wont get considering giroux was just signed for a 3 yr $3.75 cap hit.
