If a trade is made for him will it stop the waiver claims or is whoever makes this deal, making a trade for a player that is about to get claimed by another franchise?

I've got some peeps coming over around 4 but haven't decided on the menu. I was thinking seafood but the wife says shrimp/crab are "too much work" and I don't want to be fixing her food while trying to watch pre-game, drink and yammer on about how I hate the Patriots. So I might go simple like wings and subs.
