Submitted the following questions for the dev chat:

Will IQ be covered in the scouting report? Also, will IQ be subject to player potential, or is this going to be limited to individual ratings?

A) What this is all about, is that schools like Hawaii and Oregon St etc. can now spend a little $$ on a service and increase their pool of legit recruits when they currently have little or none locally

B) I'm thinking the easiest way to diminish the information sharing concern would be that if you didn't spend for the scouting service on a recruit more than 300 miles away ..... you don't get considered by the recruit

I like the general idea, but it is something that will be subject to much collusion. Take 4 friends in a conference. Each takes one state that is relevant to the group of schools. They then exchange passwords for recruiting, read the notes on players in all 4 states and then change their passwords after recruting is over. There is already enough of that.

People with more than one team in the same world will also gain an advantage.

For these reasons, I'd just as soon leave it basically as is and add some additional information to recruit responses.

No thanks. This is a new OPTION and should not be forced upon in order to sign players.

Things I learned from this thread-

1. Scouting Services and Potential may keep me giving my $13 to WIS

2. Someone said fregoe was right. This is an historic day

3. Furry may be the younger, dumber brother of jakurus

#3 is my personal favorite

I would love to see an option that allows insight into how much other people have into recruits in the region. Even if it's just a Low - Med - High type of answer. Maybe then we wouldn't let 5 star players walk into high prestige schools for <$2000.

Maybe a response like "You can make a run at the kid, because Duke only has a low investment."

mlatsko that's what i think it kindof will be like, you can very easily see based on what it appears the scouting service will provide, if someone made a big push or not. It could very well make d1 recruiting a lot more exciting
I'll be the first to admit that I would use the service, then sit around like a snake in the grass and wait to pounce on someone. :-) That could really add some entertainment into the game.

Hell, Moy's Battlecry could actually be answered!

I'm currently looking at (as in, will send a coach call to) fifty-eight players for next season. Of those 58, 29 are from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and the Carolinas (go figure on that one.) I'm in Wisconsin, in DIII.

I can't help but wonder if this scouting service will hurt schools' abilities to recruit out of their regions.

Wow. Alleging that someone is more stupid than Jakarus is really fighting words.

Particularly when he wasn't even born when jak ran wild.

I may be in the minority in that I believe jak was not unintelligent, I just think his overall douchebaggery got in the way of his intelligence...Now, furry is a deadly mix of unintelligent with a large helping of douchebaggery and a dash of pimento...

B is ridiculous idea, I'm sorry that just isn't going to help anything imo, especially at d2/3 where money is limited and you would have to spend some money to have just a shot at recruiting a guy? No way.

I like the changes, at least how I presume they will work. It adds some needed depth to recruiting. However, if you read the threads about being bored with HD, it's not recruiting most are bored with. Most still enjoy that. It's with the gameplanning and the feeling of not having much control that they complain loudest.
I am far from that point yet but most everyone has experienced it. Not sure what the answer for making the game interface better on a daily basis. We basically coach from the press box but our phone to the sidelines is broken.

Ding already thought of that when I was typing the other thing. Or people in confs can "agree" that coach X scouts these states and coach Y scouts these states and share the info via Site mails or whatever.
would clearly be collusive behavior.
