Cash in trades - Do worlds discourage it? Topic

i've always imagined that you were able to calmly ruffle internet feathers if it was something you believed in.

perhaps this would just be a bit too over the top for you without the rage. or maybe you don't want to be "that guy."

either way, if it's not something you yourself would do, i'm not sure you advocate it as strongly as you may have initially indicated.

I often ruffle internet feathers for the funny(to me).

I'd have to be upset to do it. The internet doesn't upset me.

Nonetheless, it does upset some people. And they deserve to get their pound of flesh.

If you have a player making 5 million a season and he is traded for a equal prospect who is making the league minimum do you veto that trade? You just transferred 5 million in available cash from 1 team to another.

Read the thread. Then ask me questions. For the 20th time. We've been thru this before. I know we have.

I read about 4 pages and I saw nothing answering that question.

It is also a question I have never seen answered, its always ignored.

I have never seen anyone that has been able to answer this question.

"Whats the difference between trading a 750k RP and 5 million for a prospect and trading a 5.75 million RP for the same prospect?"

The trade would be approved(at least by me) in Coop/MGraham(worlds I commish). The owner making the dumbass move would be questioned(by me wearing my commish hat). If his answer was insufficient or he failed to compete, he wouldn't be back.

A trade like that was vetoed in HJack. Because it's stupid.

Don't go away, plague. I answered your retarded question. At least respond to my reply.

That said, I've also seen crazy bastards make the uber-rapey trade and have a hissy when it gets vetoed. They don't have anything to compare it to because it's so lopsided.

That's a case for better screening.

Is there a rubric out there that helps determine semi-rapey and uber-rapey?

I brought up a similar point/scenario on the first page, but you even took it a step further. Any trade where the salaries don't match up exactly can be considered a cash transaction. Any trade with cash involved, even if it doesn't exceed the salaries of the players involved again is a cash transaction. There is a limit of 5 million 'extra' in cash in any given trade, but it's really irrelevant whether or not it exceeds the salaries involved. It's simple basic math, if the cash doesn't match up exactly somebody is getting extra cash that can be transferred, used for other players, etc IN EVERY SINGLE TRADE.

I'm not sure if that's related to the pages of debates preceeding this, but you're right that nobody arguing from either side really addressed it.

I have to rush off but I will do it in the morning.

P.S. I did not mean to be as abrasive in the last post as it sounded.
