This is just a cosmetic fix.  The National Champion in Knight finished the season ranked 8th, going 6-0 on the season against the 7 teams ranked ahead of them.

Don't fully know what to say about this one, except that it's unprecedented:

#1 Ranked team (also #1 in RPI) loses in the first round of the NT to a 50 point underdog.  Starting center of underdog team plays man w/ a D rating of 20 and does a great job against a 1st team all conference center.  I fully accept that this could just be a 1 in 500 outlier, but I just want to ensure that that's what it is.  I accept that the outcome is possible, but it should be very, very rare.

Loss to #241 sim Ferrum, Greensboro Has better team averages in nearly every attribute(and dominates many), and is better(dare I say) man for man up and down the roster,  yet somehow gets beat in nearly every important statistical category in the box score: Rebounds, turnovers, fouls, assists, FG %....Ferrum shoots 8-21 from 3 vs. +2/+3 defense . Ferrum's SG  with 38 ath and 40 speed somehow gets free enough to shoot 8-12(5-8 from 3) vs. a defender with 32 ath, 82 speed, 77 defense, A- IQ playing +2/+3. All other backcourt defenders had huge speed advantages over this guy as well, 30-40-50 points everywhere.

Greensboro with team averages of 42 ath, 60 speed, 43 BH, 43 PA has 19 turnovers vs. Ferrum's m2m(31 def avg.).

Ferrum with team averages of  32 ath, 40 speed, 31 BH, 31 PA has only 18 turnovers vs. Greensboro's press(35 def. avg.)

One game outlier or upset would be fine, but lesser teams have been outperforming my squad all season. With the same kind of talent Greensboro three-peated as NC two seasons ago, now my team is 5-7 and losing to a #241 ranked sim(FWIW Greensboro had not lost to a sim team in 20+ seasons). IMO talent advantages/disadvantages aren't creating consistent results in the boxscores, and games feel like too much of a crapshoot.

Roguedog, that Texas A&M game is rediculous.  1 in a 1000 outlier.  No way that game should be close 95% of the time.  Just weird.

Seble, a side effect of the 7/6 update appears to be that HD has frozen entirely.   Not your best work there.

82 fouls, 114 FTAs. 'Nuff said.
Not quite "'nuff said" - it does matter that this is uptempo fastbreak/press against uptempo fastbreak/press.

Last season, Kansas St. led the nation in FT attempts with 30.4/game.  The most FT in any of their games was 42. 114 free throws in a game is excessive, regardless of the offense/defense.

What bothers me more, though, is the great disparity in FTs between two teams. In the last week alone, my DIII team at Drew (Naismith) has been outshot with FT's by the margins of 43-14; 52-13; 53-17; and 52-5.  I also had one game to my advantage, 53-17. I use the press. My 5 starters have IQ A+ to A- and a DEF average of 53.

I wouldn't care so much about fouls if they were being called the same for both teams.  Looking at the same RL Kansas State team, they only had SIX games where the FTdifference was greater than 15, with the largest being 25 (40-15 vs. Cleveland State).

Al, I think we both know that the problem here is your honesty. Slip the refs a 20 every now and then and you'll be good.

But in all seriousness, ft attempts and fouls are simply not working properly.

It would be really, really nice to hear a peep now and again from seble, huh?

Wichita St is an A+ from the Valley with a first round exit and is now sim .... nice....

That's just cause they're so happy I left em :)

Allen recruits stink, lopsided ratings everywhere
7/8/2010 7:45 AM

Allen recruits are different for sure.  For D1, the top guys are really really good and the rest....not so much.  Not really a complaint, just an observation.  I predict WAY more A/A+ prestige teams getting into battles this time around.  No one is getting one of these top 30 players for $3000 and intimidation.

Even though both went 11 deep, the team with higher stam levels create tons of fatigue issues for the other team.  I am convinced that there is too much variance in stamina levels between players, not in how the engine views stamina.

So I walked away as did many others when they ruined HD with the "No Potential" system. WiS wrote and said they made so many improvements to HD and gave me a free season. I see they haven't fixed the "No Potential" system, and have seemed to go backwards on just about everything else. Guess HD is worth the nothing they charged for it. It's a shame, it used to be a great simulation, but that is a distant memory now.
