We're still 7-3 with 5 games we still have a solid shot at winning.  If we go 10-6, I'll take our chances for the WC.

@ Oak, @ Denver, @ GB, @ Minnesota...I guarantee they lose 2 of those without Cutler, and maybe 3.  Seattle's been getting better, though they should beat KC at home.

You may be looking at 9-7 with Hanie.

Beating Oakland in Hanie's first game could be tough but defense and special teams will keep the Bears in games until Hanie gets comfortable in the system. Worst case is 3-3, no chance for Denver, KC or Seattle to put up enough points on the Bears D.

As for Tebow, the Bears beat Vick four straight, he has better weapons and still can't solve the Bears defense, not a chance in hell Tebow leads Denver to a win against Chicago.

Tebow solved the Jets defense.  And with Hanie in there, I don't see why the Broncos D can't hold them to 7-10 points.

And in case you get the urge to spout off about the Jets defense - the Jets are allowing 21.7 points per game to the Bears 20.7, and are giving up an average of about 55 yards less per game than the Bears D.  So I'd say they're pretty comparable.

No matter how pretty the last drive was, putting up 10 points on offense does not = solving a defense.

Seattle could score on Chicago.....they won't, but in theory they could

Denver and KC couldn't even in theory

the Bears are still sitting in a very comfortable spot for a playoff spot

and while clearly not a big fan, watching Cutler win over Rivers is a beautiful thing......

Tell it to the Jets, who, as I already pointed out, are a better team in terms of total defense and very comparable in points allowed/game.  I'm loving the insinuation that the Bears are this huge, impenatrable D.

the Jets had 3 days and a long flight....and what exactly did Denver do on offense before the last drive?

you are acting like they dropped 49 points on them

what you have pointed out is of little consequence....

Are you insinuating that it takes a huge impenatrable D to bottle up Denver's offense?  I don't think ed or anyone means to say that that Denver won't score AT ALL against Chicago, but that they won't score enough to make winning likely.  I mean, sure, they could potentially win a 10-7 game or something like that, or the defense could score again, or you could get an unexpected offensive outburst, but if you're pointing to what they did against the Jets as an example of what to expect against Chicago, you're planning on losing that game.

The point is the Broncos just beat a team with a defense even with Chicago's (and a team who has a better offense than Chicago will likely have when they go to Denver).  It doesn't matter how they won - they won.  Which means to insinuate they have no shot of beating the Bears is absolutely ridiculous.

And yes, both eds and jim pretty much stated the Broncos have no chance in hell of beating Chicago.
