IFA signings

1 or 2 bid system.     Owners place a bid and find out 72 hours later if they had the highest.   Or owners place a bid, get a notification 24 hours later on whether they are top bid or not, get one opportunity to up their bid and find out 48 hours later if they were the highest.

Customizable team colors and logos
I would like more options along these lines, and it'd be totally dorky (and pointless!) but fun to have a template for creating uniforms, sort of like how EA games have that option in create-a-team. You'd be selecting from among certain letter and number fonts, jersey/pants styles and color schemes for each (some fonts/styles would have borders, etc.). This could be something extra we could do during the interminable Set Budget process. Other teams' uniforms could be seen under a tab on franchise cards.

Oh, and HISTORICAL BALLPARKS. This would add some new cities (Brooklyn!), while cities that have had multiple ballparks through their histories would have multiple representatives. They could use the same ballpark effects used in SLB. It'd be cool if each ballpark came with a different city logo that hinted at their historical nature, but I'd be satisfied with just the ballparks. Seems like an easy addition to me (except for the entirely new cities, which would require the assistance of a graphic designer).

I'd like to see page where we can get a brief recap of every game played the previous cycle.  Something like this:

I like tec's recap idea.  I'd like to make sure it had a link to the entire boxscore if we wanted to see more info on an individual game.

Id like the default view on the front page with ? instead of the score.  I think its kind of dumb that I have to put my hand in front of my face then go down press the ML button so that the surprise of the final score and result isnt ruined before I get to read the box score.

But more to the point, I think many of the things that people are asking for should be customizable.  We are all different people with different wants, so make a "settings" page with all the different view settings and other changes you guys make so that we can pick and choose our own preferences...

Good idea no?

And if you can figure out a way for my computer to give me chips and beer that would be dandy too!  :)

  1. Why does the DiTR have to be some guy rated 39 over all. Why couldn't it be a guy that shows good enough defense to have like a 70 rating but needs to hit off a tee to be anything in the Majors. I guess I mean why is is restricted to just 29 round picks and 50k internation types.
  2. Long shot for getting much tread but I think that you should be able to stretch out a pitcher to improve stamina. There could be greater injury risk for a penalty for trying. People can get stronger in life it happens.
  3. You should not be able to see other teams budgets at all. This can be used to determine how much or how little  you have to spend on both FA and IFA. This has played into my advantage many times over but I would like to see it go.
  4. If you continue to allow budgets to be seen it should only be the opening budget and you should not see any transfered cash.
  5. Drop the cash in trades to 2 million or all together.
  6. If an owner is in violation of posted world rules, the commish should be able to replace that owner on the spot. It is BS that a guy can know that he is going to be removed from a world for a month and he can destroy a team in that time. The Commish could put in a ticket and have the AI lock in so the owner can't screw up the team anymore. There are some bitter people on this site.
  7. I wish there was an easier way to see career stats for your whole team at once. It is kind of a pain in the a$$ to go through every player to look that stuff up. It is pretty minor and a personal preferance but the teams I have I really do care about the career numbers for some reason.
  8. League leaders for previous seasons. I have a short memory.
  9. When looking at pitching stats in the league leaders, i would like to see an inning minimum that I could set. That way I can see how my bullpen guys are stacking up to the rest of the world. You can see a few now but it is cluttered with a bunch of guys with only 6 innings.
  10. In the world chat I would like to be able to see what has been post in the last 24 hours from first to last because I hate reading backwords and sometime people post really long notes and then add a few more notes and you don't know where they start.
  11. I wish I could at least see that a trade chat was read.

or click on the franchise link on the main WIS page after signing in and you get the option to view all your ML boxscores/play x play from the last week or so.  I use this one during the playoffs to limit catching an injury notification, or world chat description of something that happened in my playoff game that cycle.

If you hide the score, it stays that way until you "unhide" it.  I like to have the score hidden, but after I've checked out the game, I like to see the division standings.  You just have to remember to hide the scores again for next time before you leave the page.

allow commish to have messages delivered directly to the correspondence page, rather than relying on tc which could be any owner soliciting a trade that you have no interest in, and therefore is seemingly unimportant...

Draft:  1.  I think there should be a much greater variance on projected ratings of players (for example if you spend 20, you see a +/- of 3 OVR, but if you spend 0 you might get a +/- 15). 
          2.  I also think there should be variance on current ratings of players - I am sure this would be very tough to code
          3.  You should be able to "see" everybody in draft, but with the variance on the ratings, #1 is not obvious if you have a low budget.

Int'l - same concept.  I like some of the earlier ideas (Mike-T's bidding concept), like being able to see all prospects, but variance again is big because of scouting.

MVP/All-Star - The emphasis on Def has gone too far.  We had a player in one league nominated for MVP even though he was a below average 1b hitter, but because he should be a RFer, he had a lot of + plays.  Sorry in real life Casey Kotchman is not an MVP candidate because he is the best fielder (Texiera is a great fielder, but he doesn't get any bump for that).  It does matter because we do look at MVP and AS awards when voting for HofF and it knocks out potential winners from award.
MVP - Nominate 20 players and have us vote for top 5 in order.
