Bieksa should get suspended for that, but knowing the NHL's laughable policies, he won't be.

spoken like a true hawks fan

just cause your team can't fight does not mean all teams shouldn't fight.

seriously - props to him - do you think the hawks will think twice next time when hitting him in vancouver.... I say yes.

truly - I like that kind of play - these teams are in a 7 game series.  You are losing and have no chance of getting back in the game - win something, send a message.  Its how all the east coast teams play... or at least the majority of them.

Have any hawks actually fought in this series in the 4 games?

I don't think it's a suspendable offense. I just think it was a dumb move by Stalberg. The whole night I was praying the Hawks wouldn't give them anything. I also thought the penalties on Scott and Torres were a good move by the officials. They did a very good job keepings under control I thought.

The Hawks came out angry and ready to play and Vancouver played not to lose. Everyone pulled their weight for the first time all year, with Frolik, Bolland and especially Duncan Keith who played with a real mean streak stod out for me. Still, I believe the series ends in Vancouver. I can't imagine a team like the Canucks mails it in two games in a row.

There was one little play I thought that was a sign of things to come in the first period: Jonathan Toews was in a puck battle with Ryan Kesler at the Hawks blue line on the far side and he simply put his stick under Kesler's, overpowered him, all the while making it look easy, and threw him to the ice before skating away with the puck. I thought that really set the tone. The captain basically told his team that he wasn't quitting and everyone followed. It's little things like that that make Jonathan Toews the captain that he is, not only goals or assists.

Just when I think moy is coming around, he admits he likes a dirty, suspendable play. Wow.

completely agree - toews is a great captain. He's top of NHL in grit/determination, faceoffs, and defense. I just disagree he is 'elite'. 'elite' players can do it all, including goals and assists.... and scoring is a pretty big deal.

I prefer a hard fought game of hockey.... hard hitting (sometimes questionable), high emotion, crashing the net type hockey.... not prancing prissy hockey where there are weak hits and lots of pretty skating. I could watch figure skating if I wanted to watch that.

It was good enough to win the Cup against your so-called tough team last year.

Still LOLing at your Toews opinion that happens to be laughably wrong!

Toews was top 10th in scoring this season. Typical that a know-nothing like moy didn't know that.

yeah - when you had some muscle like Eager and Buff.

Still LOLing that Niemi has a better chance of winning another Stanley Cup in the next 10 years than the Hawks do.

yeah - like 30 points behind the leader. Tiger Woods was an elite golfer for a long time... the player that finished in 10th place and was some 10+ strokes behind him was not elite.

But if you like using rankings -

Last 3 seasons final rankings (points) ---- (in order'10/'11, '09/'10, '08/'09)

Ovi = 7th (85 points), 3rd (109), 2nd (110)
Sid = 30th* (66 points), 2nd (109), 3rd (103)
Toews = 10th (76 points), 35th (68), 41st (69)

*41 games

It's not rocket science that when the Hawks finally came out and showed some grit - and nasty grit  at that - they took control of the game.  The Hawks won that game because guys like Keith spent the whole game trying to show everyone who was boss.

yep. And no coincidence when guys like Buff take down Pronger twice in finals game 5 that the Hawks turn the corner and win the Stanley Cup after 49 years. Physical play IS playoff hockey.
