A bloody finish to the 2nd round as the finals pictures in each world are starting to come into focus. There were hard fought battles with desperation coaching as 7 different series went to 7 games. The last 24 hours have seen the end of Ash's, 20ks, 24k, tarheel, and jpevans playoffs runs.
In world 1 kinoa took out tarheel's final playoff team in 6 games, dh took out 24k's final playoff team in 7 games, and jcred took out one of jpevans remaining teams in 7. Tarheel came into the playoffs in 7th place, and exits currently in 7th place as well. Barring a strong finish by both robusk or jcred, Tarheel should finish in the top 3rd. 24k entered the playoffs in 13th place, and exits currently in 11th place. Copernicus is looking to pass him in the next round though.
World 2 has been waiting on the pex / jpevans series as pex finished off jpevans last remaining playoff team in 7. Jpevans entered the playoffs in 12th place, and with one of the more successful playoff appearances is exiting currently in 8th place. Robusk and jcred are still alive though, and will try to knock him out of a top 3rd showing.
In world 3, Ben was up to his old tricks throwing game 6 against ash, which worked once again as he was able to prevail in game 7 taking out ash's last remaining playoff team. Ash entered the playoffs in 16th position, and exits currently in 15th place. Gerry will need to make it to the finals in world 2 to catch him in the standings. Ash has a top 5 pick in Savage II, so watch out. Gene Simmons and KISS have already agreed to play the halftime show for Ash's opening games in Savage II as part of their Revenge Tour. That wasn't the only game 7 action though as Kinoa came back from a 3-1 deficit to reduce pex to 3 playoff teams. If they're all going to be like this, we're in for quite a treat in the conference finals. In the immortal words of Short Round, "Hang on lady, we going for a ride."
World 4 was waiting on the kinoa / robusk series as robusk stays alive in 7 games knocking out kinoa's league leader and reducing him to 3 playoff teams.
World 5 was no less exciting as pex had to pull out all the stops in order to knock 20ks out of the playoffs in 7 games. 20ks entered the playoffs in 14th place, and exists currently in 16th place as goetz and ash both had a more successful playoffs.
That's 3 playoff teams remaining for each of the top 4 owners, but with ben and dBKC more than 20 points behind they'll still need to win one more championship than either pex or kinoa to claim the Savage crown. While trey's hope dwindled as he was reduced to 1 playoff team this round, dh still has a puncher's chance at a podium spot if he takes both his teams on to victory. Who will play spoiler?
