Don cherry does anything but legitimize a claim. Confirms it's a crock
What do you think the Flames will offer Bieksa (free agent) this summer?  5 mill per? Can they even clear that cap space?

Why the hell would Calgary offer Bieksa anything?  They don't need defense, they need better forwards.  Bieksa would only further muddy a bad situation.

Congrats on making it to round 3 guys. Solid effort last night. The Canucks finally showed the killer instinct of a champion. I hope they beat the crap out of San Jose, but first I hope the Sharks chase Luongo and that the Canucks end up winning the Cup with Schneider. No other reason than my personal dislike for the guy, no offense lol
Yes Luongo is from Montreal andru, but that doesn't automatically make him an A**HOLE
The reason I dislike him is for throwing his teammates under the bus as captain last season after losing in the second round.

20 bananas for the orangutan and a keeper to clean his cage once a day. We don't want any pansies who fight nonfighters and who cower when actual guys who can toss show up, we just got rid of phiona

Uh...Chicago doesn't have any hockey players who can toss em. They do have a hired thug who can't play hockey (well better than Quennville played hockey but you get my meaning).

Really? Cause I've seen Brent Seabrook, Joanthan Toews, Bryan Bickell and Troy Brouwer all throw em pretty good at times withing their respective weight classes.

Kevin Bieksa    198 lbs.
Viktor Stalberg  210 lbs.
John Scott      258 lbs.

So Stalberg slashes a 25 minute a game player in the head and that player is supposed to challenge a guy who's barely played 25 minutes in the NHL. Why can't Stalberg be responsible for his own reckless stick.

Have a nice summer.

I'm still waiting for my answer, unless, of course, you're admitting you don't have one.

Peter, this blind defense of any player wearing Canuck colors is getting tiresome. Take off the blue/green glasses and look at the situation objectively as a hockey fan.

Size doesn't necessarily mean everything in this case.

Mario Lemieux was over 230lbs. You think anyone in the league challenged him if he slashed anyone? No. They challenged other players on the Penguins that they knew would fight. Why? Because they had honor.

Jean Beliveau was a monster of a man for his time. You think he had guys grabbing him and throwing off the gloves?

And we're not just talking about stars here. Ex-Canuck Jyrki Lumme had decent size, but you never saw anyone challenge him.

The bottom line is some guys, no matter their size, are not fighters. To fight in the NHL, it takes a certain type of personality, a certain mindset, and every player in the league knows who the willing combattants are and challenge opponents accordingly. What Bieksa did was without honor and gutless because he could challenged any of Toews, Seabrook, Brouwer or Bickell. Further to that point, he could have waited and laid out a big hit instead as payback. His beating of a non-fighter accomplished nothing more than showing how ridiculous his attempt to appear tough really was.

No.................................slashing a player in the head and running away is gutless. Why would Bieksa go after an innocent player. Why would a 25 minute player want to take a misconduct with Toews, Seabrook, Brouwer or Bickell. You'd love that as a Hawks. Not a fair trade off.

Which slashes to the head by Beliveau or Lemieux or Lumme are you talking about specifically. In other words, WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!

WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT RETALIATION FOR A CHEAP SHOT. IT DIDN'T INVOLVE ANY OTHER PLAYERS.

Brouwer beat the crap out of the orangutan

Bieksa is a gutless punk who loves to hide behind officials

No problem with his beating on stalberg, the dumbass deserved it. Just wish Bieksa always acted that tough rather than only choosing to do so with lesser combatants. Though it was a great laugh when kostopuss knocked him silly

Wait a minute. So you think a Toews-for-Bieksa trade-off  in terms of fighting majors is NOT a good trade-off for the Canucks? Ok Pete...I rest my case.

No I do not think it's a good trade-off for the Canucks. Did you watch the Nashville series. They didn't win because of offense.

What is Toews doing this week?

I rest my case.

Seriously? You would take Bieksa on your team over Jonathan Toews? Really? I don't even know what to say to that. If that's the case then can I be in your hockey pool next year?
