Gordon Beckham - 3B, Chicago White SoxNov. 6, 6:46 p.m.
White Sox GM Kenny Williams said Friday that Gordon Beckham will serve as the club's starting second baseman in 2010.
Fantasy Source spin: Chris Getz and Josh Fields were shipped to the Royals on Friday for Mark Teahen, who will take over at third base in Chicago. "I can't seem to find the position I've played my whole career," Beckham, a natural shortstop, told MLB.com. He started over 100 games at third base in '09, but this is the best way for the Sox to fit Teahen into the lineup.

u might want to reconsider with the Teahen trade.

Its okay, if I dont have a 3B next year I can always draft one in the first round and get one assigned to me in the second.

I agree, it was an unusual assigned pick, but you can't be mad at gonoles when you weren't here and didn't bother to send him a proxy pick.

If I had to guess, I would say he looked at your roster, saw you didn't have a 3B and then missed the fact that you drafted one in the first round.

But no where did it say he would be making picks for others. And if the intent of the rule is to help teams that obviously didnt happen here.

Actually the rule has always been if you miss two picks, the commissioner makes one to keep you close to the pack.

It may not be posted in this thread, but I specifically remember him saying in past seasons that he would make a pick that best addressed a hole in your roster, which he did.

Clearly he forgot your Beckham pick, I'm not disputing that. He saw your hole at 3B and picked you the best available third baseman, I'm guessing.

Wrong the pick did nothing to adress any holes in my roster. I had a 3B and clearly needed pitching and OF help.

Jtp is correct that I attempted to fill a hole that kneeneighbor had addressed in his first pick and failed to note his first round pick when I posted Feliz...as a result he has more 3B PA's than he needed although he would have needed a 3B to platoon with Beckham...probably wouldn't have picked those supplemental PA's at that point (a late 3rd round pick which it was by the time I posted it)

this was a correctable error soon after it was made...I do not know of a solution now since so many more picks have been made...I have communicated to kneeneighbor that I am sorry for my error but also, that I do not agree that his perceived team's strength was significantly hurt by it

I have offered kneenighbor the option of selecting any player I selected for either of my teams - Kansas City or Cleveland - after the posting of the Feliz pick - which would be any of my 4th round and beyond picks - for Feliz if he thinks any of those players would help his team more than Feliz

Plus, I've offered you both Carl Crawford and Ryan Braun in deals for Bartlett and you've turned down all my offers, so stop ******** about your OF.

No you offer those guys but always make me throw in more and then add in crappy pitchers who you call amazing. Last I checked a 1.37 WHIP over 30 innings is not amazing.
