Confirm with amerk but the rule is that the owner picks in his designated time slot. The only exception to this is if the owner in front of him has already drafted. So the only reason edsortails could draft before 10 AM Tuesday is if cmcafeeky has already made his pick.

So in reality cmcafeeky's deadline is really 10 AM Tuesday?

Yes, that's my understanding and also how it's been done in past DDLs. But let's see what the commisioner says.

Cedric Maxwell again
Gotta love how that worked out huh Steve? And you got him with a late pick too! Way to go!

Yes, I confirm that. cmcafeeky can hold up the whole draft til 10 am Tuesday, which is something I HATE, because everyone else has 30 minutes to make their pick, while he has over 12 hours, but that is the rule.

If cmac picks tonight, then we go into "OFF THE CLOCK MODE" for the rest of the night until 10 am tomorrow, which means that everyone can still keep picking but no one can be skipped until tomorrow. And yes, you do NOT have to wait until your time slot IF the guy ahead of you has made his pick, even if there are skipped picks on the board.

to be fair to amerk, his draft board is consistent - the timeslots are based on when the owner may make a selection, he does not list a "deadline" just a running list of when the next team is up to pick. it's worked for all other DDLs, savoy, I think the thing to adjust is the term "deadline" and instead say XXX owner may pick at X:00 - make sense?

If you "hate" the rule, why not change it. It's your league.

I could only change the rule in THIS round savoy. All other rounds, the owner at the turn has TWO picks, and it's not fair to that owner at the turn to skip BOTH picks. I always try to explain the the owner with the last pick in a round to keep in mind the fairness of every other owner having 30 minutes to pick and they have 12 hours, but cmac usually chooses to ignore this pretty consistently. This is a case of the rule being in place since the beginning, so I'm just not going to change it now.

plus, *someone* gets the benefit of the overnight in addition to the point about the wrap-around that amerk made.

Meanwhile this is a weak draft. We're done with the B+ guys already and into the B and B- guys, and they won't last too long. We are all gonna have a couple of C players in our starting lineups. No wonder the same few teams were in the finals for most of this decade. The Lakers were in 8 finals in 10 years and the Celtics were in 5 and the 76ers were in 3. The same 3 teams were in 16 of the 20 finals slots for the decade. And the other 2 in each league were also the same teams, Houston with 2 and Detroit with 2. So only 5 teams got to the finals for the decade.

We've already had 4 Celtics picked, the whole front line including Maxwell, 3 Lakers picked, Magic, Kareem and Worthy, and five 76ers picked, Erving, Malone, Cheeks, Barkley and Bobby Jones. That's 12 out of 46 picks (26%) so far from those 3 teams.

Funny, but do you concur?

I think we may all get a B or B- player as our third starter, but after that we're all gonna have some seriously flawed players to pick from to fill out our starting lineups. Many of the good offensive players are very weak defenders, and many of the strong defenders and floor play guys are like 45% shooters who turn the ball over a lot.

Thanks, I corrected it, just was thinking of their finals teams. So it's now 26% of the first 46 picks from those 3 teams.
