Chill a little sir. Some people are getting this time to spend with their family. For some it is family they haven't seen in some time, for others it may be the last with some aged family members. Our dopey fantasy basketball still is in no way more important than real life things.
I don't buy all the excuses. It takes 2 minutes to make your pick. They can do it while grandma uses the bathroom.
Just speaking for myself here but unless I have an apt amount of time to do a bunch of research and planning ahead of time it takes me way longer than 2 minutes to make my pick. Gotta look at whose been taken, and research who I want next. Unless I want my team to suck. It usually does anyways but at least I want to try.
Exactly; lots of stuff going on now, and research time is needed.

What kind of "lots of stuff?"

I would think everybody had their first few picks planned out long before the draft even started, and just has to cross out who was taken and go down the list.

I'm not being rude, I am just telling you how this is. Most of the owners have been here for a very long time, they take their picks serious but they also take their time serious too. This is a league of very experienced owners with an unlimited draft pool (not the case in DDL).

I can speak for me that I value my family time over this league (I was out of pocket for 36 hours) and I need time to make picks especially since I already had one pick made. It isn't excuses. It is just a fact.

I have no problem with needing time, but AT LEAST post and let people know that you are aware that it's your pick and you are working on it. Once we go into timed picks then people can stay away all they want as the draft keeps moving without them.

Would this fall under the round 1 no skipped pick rule? Should draft stop until HDS corrects pick?

The rule is that HDS1 has thirty minutes from the time he was notified to correct the pick. It is on the picker to make sure he is picking a pickee that hasn't yet been picked. If he hasn't corrected the pick after thirty minutes the draft moves on. So he has until 6:40 to pick and then we go.

Family time over sim league basketball time? Hogwash. Some people need to get their priorities straight. :)

The draft did begin a few days ago and it really shouldn’t be difficult in this stage to make a pick. This is a lot easier than the DDL to draft for. But, it is Xmas so I see both sides. The sooner we can get on the clock the better, imo. If u have more important things to do and u can’t send proxies or u can’t give the Commish your cell #, then u get skipped and u can pick when u have time

I actually think when "we are on the clock", the rules should be slowed or suspended on holidays and weekends. Just not going to take time out of doing my lots of stuff because some people are constantly hitting refresh.

Then you should stop joining draft leagues. Holidays and weekends are when people should have a much easier time making their picks. Still waiting to see what "lots of stuff" is.
