G, Fu! - The Weekly Student Magazine of George Fox University
While George Fox is taken aback by the press release, school officials are quick to point out that they will be getting their ***** handed to them in the coming season by their AD's cruel form of scheduling. FOX looks forward to being buried alive by Roger Williams, Eureka, Franklin, Blufton, MHB, Redlands (always has our number) Thomas More, Transylvania, S. Maine, and Calvin.
Head Coach Fuma102 was quick to point out, that while his squad will be up for the challenge, he hopes that this brutal non-conference schedule will better prepare the team for conference play (in what looks to be a 3 team race between Lewis & Clark, Fox, & Menlo).
Of note, Fuma102 brushed off questions regarding the graduation of 3 key players, that will surely gut his inside game (SF Bennett Thompson, 68 REB, 74 PE, PF Johnny Cowan, 83 REB, 75 BLK, 74 LP, PF Nick McGeehan 83 REB, 83 LP). "While still young, we expect Franklin Williams to develop into a solid player by seasons end." Fuma102 also pointed out the stellar work ethic of Herman Laine, drawing comparisions to All-Time Fox great Ed Selman. "If Herman works like a dog out there. If he can stay healthy, we expect him to contribute right away. However, we are considering a possible mentor for his development. We will have to see how offseason workouts go." Additionally the George Fox coach was quick to point out the development of "future sensation" Ryan Drye, whose 606 sophmore rating raised eyebrows, if he can stay on the court for an entire season.
When asked about rumors he was considering leaving George Fox, Fuma102 scoffed. "We have just started to see continued success at Fox. I find this season will be our most challenging yet with expectations high and a (rediculously) competitive non-conference schedule. I am looking forward to this season as well as seeing continued success in the great city of Newberg, OR." Unfortunately, rumors of Fuma102 attempting to turn around his alma mater, Saint Michaels College, at the D2 level will not stop circulating.
