Do any of you know why the potential is still affecting my sophomores, I thought it was only for freshmen. It seems like the e-mail from my AD concerning their improvements were all negative, and now I don't know how much to expect from them in improvement this year. Is this how the new system works? Will I get this e-mail about all my players every year from now on?

yeah, players that were recruited under potential are effected by it every year now

Thanks but I feel like I when I recruited him he wasn't low in that area, but oh well
2/11/2009 4:51 PM
Actually I just found the e-mail from his freshman year, and he was high in that area
2/11/2009 4:53 PM
He probably wasn't low when you recruited him, but as he has approached the limit of his ability, his potential is now low.

Like tooth said, as he approches his potential, his potential rating will drop.

I see, so he can only get to a certain point in that area, no matter what?

yes, that is the hard cap that people are talking about.. that's what most people are finding they don't like about potential.

Haha well add me to that list, but it is good to know, thank you guys

This should be a big advantage to those teams with a large Soph class of steroid players. They have skyrocketed past the old Juniors and, in many cases on par with Seniors. In Wooden, at least, that will be the super steroid class surrounded by old school players above and the part time steroid users below. I guess we are the beta test site for yet another change of direction in HD. I can't wait until all players are on the same level.

I may have missed this in the discussion somewhere in the middle.... but, while the done after two years was a HUGE problem, it wasn't the only problem.

Kids with "High potential" and "big upside" capping out at lower levels than regular guys under the old system.

I could fairly easily get a guy from a 50 PER to 90 PER by his senior year with a 60 starting WE......now, even though they are "High potential" and "Big upside", they are capping out in the mid 70's. Sure doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
