1. Allow the chance of a FA or IFA to sign on an initial offer, maybe with an individual threshold for when each player would sign on a first offer (variable from player to player). This would promote real offers from the get-go and add risk to those who wait or lowball a player.

2. Allow a new owner in an existing world the option of working from a fresh budget or from the previous season's budget. Currently there are some built-in injustices for teams coming in either at the top or the bottom of the league. For example if a new owner takes over an existing high-payroll team, there is a chance that because of new owner restrictions, they'll have to move players they could or would otherwise keep because they wouldn't be able to maintain the previous season's payroll. On the flip side, the new owner coming into a bad team with a top pick has a inherent disadvantage in the first draft if they can't maintain or get to a max scouting budget (like teams with the very next pick could).

Take the team over prior to rollover if you want to keep the budgets.

In correspondence with a mentor, I've asked why my bullpen was getting their ***** absolutely pounded each and every outing ( despite a neutral field, solid defense, good coaching, and a decent bullpen ). He said something along the lines of no matter how good your pen is, the game has never been kind to relievers and that they've never fixed the bug.

So, I figured this thread would be a good place to toss it out.

Not sure what your mentor was referring to, but this is the first that I've heard of a "relief pitcher bug" that's never been fixed. And I've been here playing this game for 4 years.

Problems with bullpens usually come down to a handful of things:

a) the RP's are not as good as the owner thinks they are
b) the reliever's settings (target and max pitch counts, and call bullpen) are not set appropriately
c) small sample size for relievers - one of two bad outings can trash their stats

My entire staff is getting gassed... why, I have no clue. But I figured this would be a good place to start.

Seconded. There's no 'bug' - you see real world bullpens blow up all of the time.
Now getting specialists to work correctly; that's something else.

Maybe that's what the mystery mentor was referring to.

Make the caps and uniforms of hall of famers match the team/city that they played most of their years for.
