Mediocre post but I like the initial line:
I was at a bar ordering drinks for my friend and i. I walk up to the bar and place my order. The girl beside me says, "Also a rum and coke please!" and gives me a pretty smile. Now i have recently read the thing where Feynman said something similar and i was a little liquored up, so i told the bartender to make it a diet coke and rum.
Soon afterwords her female friends get in my face and start yelling and are asked to leave. A friend of mine caught wind of this and after knowing me for years and hanging out quite a bit, is no longer my friend because they never knew I was 'that damn childish, *******'
To me, that was an insult on my masculinity. She had been there all night, doing the same thing to pretty much every guy that came up. She could have looked at me and said, "I'm pretty so you have to pay me." and it would have illicited a similar reaction in my mind. If I would have said, "I have a dick, you have to make me a sandwich." I probably would have been kicked out and banned from the place.
Is this really equality? Is this what you're fighting for? I lost a good friend because it's so common for females to try to score free drinks while contributing nothing.
Is this from Mating Rituals of Objectivists?
That's fantastically pathetic. 'I lost a good friend'... you weren't at Hamburger Hill, *******, you were just being drunk and stupid in a bar.
