Any idea of what high school he went to? I know he didn't go to the one we went to because I've never heard a mention of him

Bartlett TN, here. Grew up in western PA. For you guys who asked how did Bill Mazeroski make the hall you didn't see him play defense. In his last year, I was at a September game, Murtaugh I think it was, put him in the game at 3rd so the fans could get a chance to say goodbye. It was Maz's 1st game at 3rd ever. He had that little bittie glove on. The pitch smashed down 3b line. Maz dove full out to his right and gloved the ball on one bounce, came up as quickly as any 20 year old, and threw to 1st for the out. The next Saturday, before the game of the week when the flased 15 seconds of highlights(before ESPN's POD) his play was featured. What a glove. He deserves the hall because he was the best. I think some of the records for defense are still his.

looks like F.P. Santangelo moved to Sacramento, CA by the time he attended High School.

Baseball Cube has the best information I found for High School and Minor League records, Bernie Carbo is listed as attending high school in Livonia, Michigan.

Coolers and ice do wonders for underage warm beer problems.

Of course, when I was a high school junior, and got my first car, I kept a tin wash tub and a keg tap (ball keg, good for Iron City and Pabst, didn't work for Bud or Miller) in my trunk at all times. And it got a LOT of use.

sad but true. At least when my kids start driving, I'll know enough to check their trunks regularly.

Hey... you're near EMMER EFFING ITASCA. I HATE this part of the world!

Sadly there are few in this forum that can appreciate the depth of the humor in this comment. I grew up in (ugh) Wood Dale and moved to San Diego 14 years ago. Look at it this way, at least your close to Interstates, Metra and O'Hare so you can get the hell out of there really fast.
