I can't think of anything worse than 10 minutes of idle chitchat and, when you walk away, someone saying "What a jerk." Knock it out in the first minute and save us both 9 minutes. No need for fake civility.

How is this about a slap in the face versus a knife in the back? Or fake civility?

Like was mentioned, why is it so hard to say "I disagree, and here is why" instead of "you idea is stupid?" And how does that waste 9 minutes with idle chitchat, inevitably leading to behind-the-back insults?

Hyperbolize much?

Wow, has this gone off topic, but become absolutely fascinating in a car crash kind of way, but instead of a car we are seeing a deeply touble pathos wrapped around a pole. Get the Jaws of Life someone needs out.

Wow.

Here's another tip for ted the new guy . . . watch out for the forum trolls. They like to show up periodically and provide non-productive commentary on other peoples posts.

One such troll has posted in this very thread. On the previous page, at 4:45pm. Ironically, his post provides commentary on the value of these very forums, which he characterizes as "disappointing" and "disheartening". Yet he's exactly the kind of person that makes them so, since he never provides any value to any thread in which he posts.

In case tec's post wasn't clear, I have reprinted above the part that is on topic in bold, underlined, italicized CAPITAL letters. Not much there, eh?

Here is the part of his post that provided value to the topic:

He must have had a mirror at his side as he posted.

Of course, "Eliminate Prospect Budget" isn't exactly the sort of rocket science that generates very many good ideas. In eleven pages of this thread so far it hasn't been supported by a sensible idea, which tells you something. The thread might as well have been called "Eliminate Center Fielder."

EDIT: Here's a list of posts that provided value to the topic:

... well, there aren't any. As usual, the kindergardeners got out their pictures and the thread went to hell. Ted, you'll see that over and over in these forums, the HBD forum probably the most of all.

What did you do after you printed it? Post it on your fridge? And which portion of your post is on topic, oh Forum Avenger?

And what would he do with his awesome crayon drawings if he did?
