You could've been vague about it. It's not like you work for WIS. Worst they could do is, I don't know, not tell you anything in advance.

The point of recusing yourself would have been to AVOID the perception that you benefitted from any undue advantage. You're not even going to get a slap on the wrist from dh, but even if you did, you don't seem particularly interested in avoiding the perception that you benefitted, only in convincing people that you didn't do anything wrong. What you did was improper. Let's just leave it that. Plenty of us seem to think so but no one thinks you deserve consequences. It was what it was, no one cares enough to crucify you.

Now I'm getting mad because I feel like we're in Eddie Murphy Jedi Mind Trick/Shaggy "It Wasn't Me" territory. You really don't have to push your innocence on us. You're somewhere in the gray area and everyone knows it. No one can think of a reasonable consequence because it's not THAT big a deal.

Ben, go sit in the corner for fifteen minutes and think about what you’ve done.

I was told not to share as nothing was for certain. If someone can come up with a reasonable alternative to what I did I’d love to hear it. So far I’ve heard that I should have quit (laughable), that I should have drafted someone else (all three of the players I had in the top tier were effected. I’m not just going to not draft the top player on my board), or that I should have told everyone (not an option, sorry).

If you were the only one who knew that an update was coming that would help LeBron and no one else, you still would have drafted LeBron. So would have everyone else.

Drafting the best player on my board WAS the only reasonable choice.
yea but like 9-10 owners already knew...why not send out a sitemail to the rest of us? thats the only thing that bothers me...is wis really gonna care if the other half of this league knows?

other than that id say it worked out as best as it could...best thing to do now is move on and start making jokes about it...i look forward to the evals from the tom brady of wis

Hey guys. There is a state farm update at some point (almost certainly happening at some nebulous point in the future) and to shooting normalization (has never been confirmed).

So if I ever draft a player who shoots or has any assists, I have alerted you.

point is he keeps trying to win the benefit of the doubt while also saying there’s nothing he would do to avoid the perception of impropriety which, let’s face it, is built into his reputation by this point, fair or not. it’s not like he doesn’t know how people perceive him; he just, again, for the umpteenth time, doesn’t care. classic case of trying to have his cake and eat it too. it’s all fine and well that he didn’t break any laws of man or nature but do we have to sit here and have the thread taken over by a Johnnie Cochran defense for a 15¢ crime?

If I just had to read a paragraph where you couldn't uppercase the first letter of each sentence then yes you have to sit there and read Johnnie Cochran defense post
