Since I am about sharing knowledge I wanted to explain my draft thought process.

By now, most of us have a core of starters and maybe eyeing some positions soon that you haven't drafted yet for some positions. Here is how I figure out who and when to draft. I fill out 5 lineups to get a sense of how many remaining minutes I need at each position and world. Then I try to get to benchmarks for usage, DReb, OReb, Ast%, Def. 3PM, TO's and fouls I just try to get the most or least of but I don't have specific targets for them. THen I do draft center searches with those benchmark parameters set as the minimums and sort by player name to allow me to see how many seasons each player fits into what I need. THen I write those names down by position with a count of how many seasons they match the criteria. Then I try and prioritize players who have 5 "usable seasons" over ones that have less than 5 because it only takes 1 pick vs 2 or more to fill out a position. If I see a position getting sniped and there is only 2 or 3 players left that fit my criteria, I go after them instead of drafting someone from a position with more options. I do this even if the other player is better on a h2h basis. This is based on scarcity.
For example lets say I need 800 PF minutes in W1, 2,000 in W2, 1,400 in W3, 1,000 in W4, and 1,200 in W5. Then to back up Towns, I need usage tobe over 22%, eFG over 50% but higher the better, DReb over 20%, I'd like assists and OReb to be higher but I sacrifice those categories because they are lesser importance than DReb and USage and efg. Porzingis was the last player available that had 5 seasons over the minutes threshold, that fit most of what I was looking for. FYI, I would have preferred Vucevic and Nowitzki but they were taken right before my pick.

I use this same logic to fill out the remaining spots, the real tricky part for me is when I don't have players with 5 seasons that I want to use, how I go about overlapping backup minutes from other positions to cover the minutes gaps in those worlds. I try and balance things out like usage, rebounding and defense first but mostof the time those backup minutes will be a drop off from your starters. I think I have a great way in my spreadhseets of balancing minutes and stats across 5 worlds and that is probably how I achieve the 5 playoff team bonus.

I am no prophet and get humbled many times in this game, but if you want to chat about anything in detail, feel free to reach out.

Definitely not. I can’t be the only one who was targeting him this round. 6th felt too early. 8th too late

Thanks for sharing. Ash set a precedent for this many years ago and many times over the years others have followed his example. It’s one of the things that make this a great community. Thanks to all of you.
