right, i'm not that worried...just wanted to clarify before going in. Not so much about the board either, but more if there is any sort of official division of owners (ie: this is "our" world).

Anyway, IMO 5 and 7 are good numbers. The main thing would be to make sure that there are enough perspectives at the table on any given issue to guard against missing something. I agree with Fish, it probably won't be used that often.

Knowing some of the live people in this world, I would say it's fair to say there will be talk of "this is a simleague live world" but I promise you all that is, talk. No one playing feels live players have more rights than others, just the intitlement (sp) that we started the world.

Hope that makes sense, and I am excited to start this thing and play HBD with guys who play live so we can discuss trades and such while playing our other games.

I feel I can speak for everyone when I say we couldn't play without people like yourself and we want the games to begin!

Really? Really? We are gonna start already with taking peoples words so literally? I get so much of this **** already in live, why did I think this would be any different? Well I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on as to not hurt anyone's feelings. Here I was just trying to enjoy a "new" game with some friends. Go ahead and use my "new" for your next post saying that hbd is not new.

I'd rather see the board mostly comprised of owners with lots of HBD experience than be live veterans. The issues that may come up have zero to do with live play, and it takes more time playing HBD than I have to be able to accurately judge tanking (as opposed to legit rebuilding) and unfair trades. SimLeague ball has nothing similar to player development, which is at the heart of issues that are likely to come up.

I'd say habsfan and kinee are certainly qualified, but I don't think anyone with three or four seasons (FishNasty and myself) is.

Only reason why I bring people like you and fish up is that people in LIVE trust you guys, that they know that if you don't know enough info, you would do your do dilligence to find the right answer is all. This is the reason I said we needed an experienced commissioner. Because of the commmitment, good HBD leagues screen owners, and do not just take the first 32 who sign up. If the commish is doing his job, there will be few if any loose cannons in the league to begin with. Obviously with the requirement to have eight new guys, malevolent aliases could get in. But we have the benefit of having a group of new players (or new user names) many of us know from Live, which is a big plus. Cheaters, tankers and other assorted low-lifes are quickly outed in the HBD forum, and while they can sign up with a new user ID, if an owner has experience and kneeneighbor isn't aware of issues from other leagues, it means there aren't any.

HBD has a deeper pool of owners than SLL, and leagues do not have to take anyone who wants in to get leagues to fill. As long as you trust kneeneighbor, you should rest easy that any issues will be dealt with.
