so is forsberg
what's yer point?

Forsberg is a figure skater, not a hockey player. He likes to try to do triple lutzes and falls anytime anyone gets near him.

2 wins vs the Leafs.....
Not really suprising since they can't play a lick of defense.

gotta give the b's credit tho
winning/making the playoffs without bergeron for most of the season, and with the injuries they've had all year (and especially the past couple weeks) is the mark of a *gulp* good team
or at least the result is good. they are performing much higher than i expected
when chuck kobasew is your 2nd leading scorer, you know your team is made up of 2 or3 stars and around 20 lunchpail castoffs
of course, i still hope the caps steal the 8 seed from them and they have another long golfing season instead

Bergeron is allowed to play in full contact practice now. He might be available for the 4 games the Bruins may play in the playoffs.
3/28/2008 9:09 AM
And if that is true, I won't be able to watch those games without holding my breath every time he's on the ice.......

Adding to the dread I'd already feel if it's going to be Montreal....

Well, everything that could go right did.....

New Jersey beats the Sabres yesterday.....

And now this amazing rout 4-0.....

Krejci stepped up huge the last 3 games in place of Savard. The more the depth shows up heading into whatever higher seed matchup the better. It'll just make the return of Savard and then possibly Bergeron(?) that much better for the offense they'll need. Getting 3 healthy pairings on defense would be nice too. Reich questionable for the next game now thanks go a Neil shoulder as well to add to the forward injuries. Down to having to give Jeff Hoggan ice time in a big game.

Oh well, just have to keep winning their games and let the rest of it fall where it may.

The Globe said that he was NOT cleared to return to full cotnact practice and was done for the regular season. This morning's Globe added that he was 10 pounds below his playing weight, and couldn't seem to get the weight back on, as his workouts were burning off all the calories he was taking in.

As for the team, I must say that I am pretty shocked to see that they are only 3 points out of home ice. I honestly didn't think that would even be within reach. Of course they're also only 2 points away from missing the playoffs entirely.

From Duponts column in the Globe this morning:

Playoff return is unlikely

Following his meeting Thursday with a neurologist, it became official that Patrice Bergeron's regular season came to an end when he was clobbered headfirst into the Garden's rear boards the afternoon of Oct. 27.

Bergeron, who will be examined again in two weeks, remains some 10 pounds under his playing weight of 195 pounds and is augmenting his diet with high-calorie shakes. Problem is, his skating and dryland workouts burn off the calories nearly as fast as he can take them in, and he needs his weight and muscle mass to return just as much as he needs all the remaining neuro cobwebs to clear.

Now, does that rule out Bergeron from rejoining the roster if the Bruins were to go on an extended Cup run? Not necessarily. However, it has taken him nearly five months to feel good again, and even if he were to receive a go-ahead from the neurologist in two weeks, he still would have to start back slowly with contact drills, build up his all-around physical tolerance, and keep adding to his weight and muscle mass.

All in all, tall orders in what would really be a very short period, at the most intense and physically demanding time of the season. The best and safest way to proceed is to assume the 22-year-old Bergeron, who sustained a Grade 3 concussion when clocked by the Flyers' Randy Jones, won't be seen in uniform again until September. Which is precisely the approach general manager Peter Chiarelli adopted approximately a month after Bergeron was injured.

I'm just upset that both the B's and Flyers are playing well. I really didn't care which one missed, but I'm much more interested in seeing the Caps play.

I went to the Bruins game yesterday and all I can say is Ottowa is finished. The team has the same problem as previous years. They have no heart and they cone up as soon as they fall behind.
3/30/2008 11:38 AM
yay! the b's lost to the sabres!

The key was getting the point out of it. I hate rooting for a single point, but on the road, that's fine. Somehow, the Bruins are now within a SINGLE POINT of Ottawa for 5th. Stunning how big these games are coming up.
