What do you think of all this talk of 24+ states attempting to decriminalize marijuana in an attempt to spur the economy? Should pot be sold in liqour stores? Is it safer than alcohol?

The local righty talk show host criticized the Obama administration for trying to tell the American public that the air security protocols kicked in after the attempted attack in Detroit, that security was tightened, other planes in the air were alerted, etc. The claim was that the administration was more concerned with the political impact of the attack than any other consideration.

Would it have been a better idea for the administration to come out and say "OH MY GOD FLYING IS NOT SAFE! PLEASE GET OFF PLANES RIGHT NOW"?

Brett will throw 2.

Cutler may hit double digits.

Pot is the devil. No, it should not. Probably safer but it's so easy to get stoned. You have to work on a drunk. And everybody knows you're drunk when you're drunk.

I'm not sure there's a right or wrong way to handle such situations. The "Everybody panic!!!" way is silly. But, if I'm about to board a plane, I'd like to know that the plane that just took off was going to be crashed into the White House by terrorists.

Is Urban Meyer the next Brett Favre?

I think FL ADMIN asked him to change his announcement. I believe he really wanted to step away this season and re-evaluate where he wanted to coach in 2011. I'll be surprised if he's on the FL sideline next year.

If you are at a ballgame or a concert and a violent fight breaks out, are the parties more likely to be stoned or drunk? If there is a fatality accident, is the driver more likely to be stoned or drunk? What makes pot the "devil"? Why is alcohol so much more "socially acceptable"?

Drunk.

Drunk because pot is not legal. But stoners are not any better at operating heavy machinery. But they think they are. Drunks think they're fine, too.

The ease of getting stoned and the inability of others to know. Pot robs you of motivation. And it's quite the gateway drug.

Because it's legal. But I don't really know that getting drunk is more "socially acceptable" than getting stoned in most circles. I quit firing up over 20 years ago, because it robbed me of motivation, but I don't get all bent out of shape when a buddy burns one 3 feet from me.

Is Mike Leach in deep **** right now?

He's had better days.

How long should I play this platoon at 3B when I guy is on the interstate after 30 games (15 for him)?
12/28/2009 6:19 PM
You'll need to rephrase that.

What's up with Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) these days? Is he back on drugs?
12/28/2009 7:17 PM
I'm platooning at 3B in HBD and the righthanded batter is batting .160 (a.k.a. as on the interstate) after 30 team games (he has played about half of the games). At what point do I decide to end the platoon?
12/28/2009 7:23 PM
If I looked like Steven Tyler, I'd do drugs.

He probably has 60 AB. That's not really enough to indicate success or failure. I usually do evaluations after 40 games. For a platoon guy, that might be half a season.

How would you feel about legalizing prostitution. Some states have it legal indoors, that way no street walking but still can regulated and tax?
