I'm still waiting for him to install an offensive system

Throw the ball to Kobe and get out of the way IS the system.
I still think if this team gets a "decent" PG, it can contend this season, but the future scares the crap out if me.

Go back to Houston and see if they're still interested in giving up Dragic, Martin, and Scola for Pau?

wtf is wrong with mike brown.  the lakers win probability was < 5% for the entire 4th quarter, yet he played his starters for the entire damn quarter with another game tonight.  i think he might be trying to murder kobe.
Well the Heat have blown more leads than a bad insurance salesman (hey that's not bad)....and if Kobe wants to keep putting up early contested shots he'll be battling in the 4th more often than coasting.

just long stretches of some of the worst offensive basketball I've ever seen a Lakers team play (and Kobe and Pau in the game to the end and playing 40+ minutes again despite trailing by double digits)

I hate to make snap decisions but fire Mike Brown now

As it's currently constructed, this team has a better record than I would have expected.  Don't think the blame is on Brown, but the FO.  Heck, the Clips have a 5th string PG, who they signed a week ago, who is better than any PG on the Lakers' roster.  Can't win, using any style, if you don't have the players.  Say what you want about the Lakers 3 best players, but their PG situation is costing them at least 15 ppg at each end of the court, and 30 points is a big hole for those guys to try to dig out of.

thier defense is actually pretty good

but in the last two games they had entire quarters where they only scored 7 and 10 points - these are pro players, do you realize how atrocious that is?
1/21/2012 10:29 AM
oh and back to back 40+ minute games for Kobe in double digit losses - just for that Brown needs to be fired because WTF?
1/21/2012 10:31 AM
Yeah, that was terrible.  Especially because the Heat game wasn't like they were trailing 10-12 throughout the 4th and they had to take a shot, he brought Kobe with 11 mins in the 4th quarter down 21 (!!!) and they didn't start to cut it close until it was too late- i.e. I think the lead was > 15 until 3 mins left, and didn't cut it to 10 until < 2 mins left.  They never had a realistic shot of winning that game, and they were underdogs to begin with.  Just give Kobe his rest and take the loss, he's going to burn him out chasing unattainable wins.

Kobe should be playing like 32 mpg not 38, would be easier to hit that figure if you took him out of the no leverage situations.

offense looked a little bit better last night but defense slid

At least you look better than the Celtics.  Too bad you can't punt the reg season and still have a guarantee of the playoffs in the West- going by % points Lakers are 10th seed right now at 10-8, that's rough.  Lakers would be a threat as a 6/7/8 seed if it wasn't going to burn out Kobe just clinching a spot.  Ofc Brown would burn him out anyway, but point remains.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are 6-9 and tied for the 7th seed.

I figure they finish the month13-9 and look a little sharper due to them finally getting some practices under their belt as the schedule slows down this week and next

metta intensity!
1/26/2012 8:29 AM
Last night when they were going to a timeout Reggie Evans was talking **** to Metta, and Metta very audibly and contentiously told him "do something"

It tickled me.
1/26/2012 9:42 AM
why would anyone in thier right mind mess with metta?
