I think I did okay after sorting out the 5 trades I made in HR this season.  I shaved $30 mil in season 17 salary and added some solid young players that seem to like hitting in SFE.
 
 
 
I Gave up 

  • 2B Brandon Philips ($17 mil, 16.5 mil, 15.5 mil)  <------ .315-15-60 in 76 games for AUS
  • SP Ed Ross ($6.75 mil, going FA next season)  <---- needed to unload considering my scouting is 0/0 for the draft,  10-1, 3.67 ERA this season.
  • 3B Terry Coffie (prospect, 80 overall)
  • RP Winston Rhodes ($7.3 mil, 7.3 mil, 7.3 mil)  <---- giant money suck and still sucking it up for AUS like he did for me
  • 3B  Vince Bottenfield ($7.3 mil, 7.3 mil, 7.3 mil, 7.3 mil)  <---- couldn't get him to hit for me and he is .217-1-5 in 16 games with WAS
  • DH Eddy Watson ($347k) <----  bench player
  • C Alejandro Olmeda ($5.7mil, 5.7 mil, 5.7 mil, 5.7 mil, 5.7 mil)  <----- stud, but again struggled to get him to hit like he should especially in SFE
  • SS Brian Fitzgerald (prospect, 65 overall)



Acquired:
 
  • SP Richard Quevedo ($1.3 Arb)  <----- 7-2, 3.95 ERA (in SFE thats impressive, trust me)
  • CF Antonio Taylor ($1.8 Arb) <-----  .346-11-69 in 76 games
  • RP Paul Lim ($4.4 mil, 4.4 mil, 4.4 mil)  <---- sucking it up
  • RP William Gload ($1.2 Arb) <----- sucking it up
  • DH Bobby Hale ($327K)  <------ .333-3-12 in 13 games
  • 1B Matt Hoiles ($5.6 Arb) <------ .333-2-3 in 2 games
 

Thoughts on how I did?  I'm bored.... and drinking by myself.

You gave up Don Lombard, too.
but I also acquired him this season.  I left them (Lombard, Carter, Shipley) out since they basically got swapped to get to where I am at now.

Your defense and pitching are far worse, while your hitting is deeper.  You need to hit the jackpot in the international market with that extra money.

yeah - its nice being in the IFA market again. In $ I'm about to strike gold.


I don't really need pitching imo as much in SFE as I did in JAC or STL. It would have been a shame watching players like Davies and Ross getting shelled. That's why I dealt Davies to bot last season (cap space as well), Ross was dealt because he wouldn't re-sign. My bats should, more like hopefully, be able to compensate. Right now they are, especially on the road with a 28-12 record. Defense got worse but in a smaller park they have less ground to cover and it hasn'r been an issue. I think my IF defensively is top tier - which helps keep players off base.

Jeremy Randall finally signed in KP. His vs. right is less than my 20 mil in HS scouting revealed.   My advance scouting is only 14, so I am hoping he ends up a little higher than the new vs right projection of 66.
