CHALLENGE # 3 - The sport of Poker

Challenge 3 will be a "Hands-On" Sporting event. Your tribe can nominate up to 2 players who can be available to play Texas Hold Em, No Limit TUESDAY Night at 7:30PM Central Time / 8:30PM Eastern. You must send me the names of the players participating by 6PM Eastern tomorrow.

The goal, like Survivor, will be to stay alive. The first team who's members are completely eliminated will vote. The team who's nomination wins the tournament will get a significant advantage in the next challenge. (Thus if only one player is available, he can still play and compete to outlast one of the other tribes)

I will be playing as well. In the extremely likely scenario that I win the tournament, there will be no advantage in the next challenge.

The website I will using is http://www.nopaypoker.com – This requires you to download a 5 Meg software (similar to party poker, but free). When you register on here you get a fake $10 free money (it will cost a fake $5 to play, so don’t spend it), and I will create a password protected private game to get underway.

For those that played last season, there were some issues with people having spent the free money, so if you know you are going to be playing, make sure you will have the free $10 to play or sign up for a different account . I'm not sure if they IP Check or not, so you may need to sign up from a different computer as well. Let me know if you have issues because I have 200 freeplay dollars and might be able to figure out a way to transfer them if enough time is allotted.

Those with poor Internet connections should not nominate themselves, because "I lost the Internet" will not be an acceptable excuse when I take all of your chips :)

For their advantage of winning the last challenge and beating yours truly.... The Drastic Allusions will be able to send up to 3 people to the poker game.

Well if there are two things you can say to describe the TV Show Survivor... it would be drama and the $1,000,000 cash prize.

We don't have a cash prize, but we do have the drama.

When I left work today about 10 minutes after the vote count... we had a 3-3 tie. I almost announced the vote then, but I wanted to get the hell out of there.

That changed when I arrived here, as one vote came late.. This vote was only 12 minutes late... and TBH I usually don't give players there DQ warnings for such a short time period, but in this instance, it was substantial.

So I have been sitting here debating this.... and I'm not supposed to debate... just read results...

My first thought was to accept coach_deen's late tribal vote for stevedotdec,, eliminating stevedotdec from the island..... since it was only 12 minutes late and since it was coach_deens vote that was late you can obviously deduce that a revote (where steve and deen do not vote) would be a 3-2 vote against stevedotdec anyways...

But I can't get it off my conscience knowing I bent my own rules just to save time.

So I decided after much contemplation, I'm going to just stick to the rules as they are listed...... and not have anything on my conscience, because that's how I get to roll as host.

Besides, it's you guys against each other, not against me. So I'm not going to accept the late vote. I'm also not issuing the warning in this case. However be warned from now on if you guys are late, I may have to rule with an iron fist.

That leaves the vote tied.

I have 3 votes for coach_deen
I have 3 votes for stevedotdec.

By the rules... this tie calls for a revote. Coach_deen and stevedotdec are the only two players who may be voted for. I am giving the other 5 until 3PM (SHARP) Tomorrow to revote.

If the vote ends up tied again (which it shouldn't unless someone does not vote), then the 5 of you will be doing an elimination challenge.
