What a violent crowd! Must be Baby-Faced Bully fans. For those of you who think you are making a point about the fact Laraque wasn't on the ice, that's a sure sign you know nothing about the unwritten rules of hockey. Hatcher and Laraque are the teams two respective goons. Hatcher having any self-respect or respect for his role would've just skated away from Malone and let one of his teammates take care of him. Its like ancient warfare rules, each team's champion takes on the other team's champion. The fact Hatcher, a heavyweight, dropped his gloves on Malone, a scorer and a middleweight just proves what I've suspected about Hatcher all along. Besides, are you saying that Upshall can't take care of himself? That's funny, it seems that the favorite pasttime of Penguin haters is to take jabs at Crosby for not being able to stand up for himself. How ironic.

The funniest thing about this all is that I am not a Penguins fan, never have been. I just like telling it like it is and you all don't like that. Too bad. Suck it up buttercup.

if you watch the video you will see Hatch DID NOT GO AFTER MALONE, it was MALONE who started the fight.

did you even watch the game? malone grabbed him around the neck and threw about 2 punches before Hatcher finally turned around and said...Ok, you asked for it.

Exactly...Hatcher nailed Staal into the boards...Malone didn`t like it...and I`m a fan of neither team...but I have eyes

funny... I am not a Penguins hater. I think you're backtracking to cover the fact you didn't even watch the game and had no idea what you were talking about.

I'm sure if someone kept punching you in the head, you'd walk away. Hatcher did try to get away.... but Malone kept punching.

Malone got what he deserved...maybe next time he'll pick on someone his own size.

Upshall could have taken care of Malone quite nicely.... but Malone picked his sparring partner.
5/18/2008 10:04 AM
and as for Crosby not being able to stand up for himself...why did 3 refs have to go and "hug" him to protect him from Richards at the end? I didn't see Richie getting any hugs from the refs.

did you even watch the video?

Actually, Upshall hit Staal. In the scrum that followed, Malone tried getting a piece of whoever he could. He made the mistake of punching Hatcher a couple of times, and once Hatcher was able to oblige Malone, he did. It's Malone's fault for not getting a piece of Upshall. But these things happen in a scrum.

I disagree with this. Upshall couldn't take care of Kennedy, the smallest guy on the team. And Malone is able to fight. I think he tangled with Smith earlier in the year.

But you're right. Malone went after Hatcher, and paid for his mistake.

I would give Scottie a shot at him... I think he was busy off to the side apologizing to someone and trying to help them up off the ice. Who was that? It didn't look like Staal to me.
