Well you seem to think that my guys should all suck, but they have done fairly well over the last 5 years. I wanted to get some kind of base estimation so we can see if your opinion on what should do what is slanted or I am.

I have guys with high power, excellent L/R, and one who also has 99 eye. All 200-300 points below their career OPS and/or average over the past 3 seasons. We're about 60 games into the season. I'm also seeing a similar pattern with some other perennial studs. I'd like to see what happens over the rest of the season, but it is possible that change is affecting more than just the 20/99/40/40/30 guys.

I have a 74/94/67/83/71 player who is hitting .250 with 20 HRs and 58 RBIs in his first 100 games. I think the new changes may be affecting him.

*sigh* I already posted something similar to this, but in my world things seem to not be affected too badly 90 games into the season.
Fonzie Kelly
Julio Arias
Johnny Elster
Pat Snyder
cookie Alcantara
That's 5 guys who are still producing at a high level post-update.

got a 17-94-48-42-47 who over the last 5 years his about a .260 with 27 HR average

Got a 43-95-46-47-32 who ver the last 5 years has about .238 and 45 HRs over 5 years average

And no one in your world has told you to cut those guys or leave? Sounds like you are doing some serious tanking.

I have 2 of them, and can point to at least another 10 guys around my league with the same thing.

It's a definite possibility that this update has hurt players that it shouldn't have. It's also possible that these guys are just having "bad years."

But when a guy who has had 3 straight 900+ OPS seasons and is now rocking about a .740, or a guy who normally rocks an .850 OPS with 400+ OBP and now can't even break a .200 BA, then I tend to think something is a bit fishy.

Anyone with under 50 vR should not be in the majors unless he has a high vL and only hits against ies. Anyone with below a 50 in Contact AND Batting Eye should not be in the majors. This guy is below 60 on all 3, he SHOULD NOT BE IN THE MAJORS, he should be the MVP in High A until he is 30 and retires.

Is that clear enough for you?

Here's another guy in my league: 66/99/43/77/82 -- currently sporting a cool .630 OPS. Come on, really?
12/7/2009 1:11 PM
But for every guy like that, I'm sure there's an Albert Washington.

Some of these guys are just having bad seasons. Some of these guys just suck.
12/7/2009 3:09 PM
We shall see. Some of the seasons are abnormally bad.

Very Clear. The issue is are you correct.

The best people I see have cores in the 80-85 average. If the best is 80-85 and an average of around 55 is out of the majors doesnt that give a very narrow range of players?

Yes, but you're not considering the fact that there are Rookie, Low A, High H, AA, AAA and ML players. The range for ML players is very small because 5/6 of all players belong in one of the other levels. Only the top 1/6 of all players in a world belong in the ML, and guys with under 50 vR and under 50 for contact AND batting eye are not in that top 1/6.
