If at the end of the draft, if it turns out that an owner screwed up and has an illegal team, how will that get resolved?

I assume that if it all possible, the drafted team would have to be made legal, even if the owner screwed up and doesn't want to use a player for a certain year (because they were expecting to use that player for a different year... and screwed up).

However, if it is just not possible for the team to be put together in any way shape or form, what would happen?

In most instances where a "mistake" might get made, it will be possible to change around the choice of season(s) you use for a player or players to make it fit.  Of course, this will certainly hurt your team.  Since many of the last 6-8 picks will be <300K players, most of the key players of the team should already be set in place, so I find it hard to believe that somebody could still screw up.

But to answer your question, if somebody really did screw up, I would probably force them to replace the latest pick they made which was causing the illegal roster.  (i.e., they might have a guy who plays 2 years, 1972-73 and then later drafts a player who plays only 2009-10).  They would have to replace the 2009-10 player).
