I'm looking to make my first ever trade. Offered 2 different teams to exchange underperforming starting pitchers.

Trades in open leagues for anything other than 200k guys or cheap scrubs are pretty rare. But the answer is always "no" unless you ask. Good luck!

The guy I offered pitched his one good game against one of the teams I offered him to.

EDIT - Just checked, the other team I offered him to just rejected it.

The offer is 1913 Russ Ford for 1908 Billy Campbell. Salary is just 84K apart.

WOO HOO! We finally broke out with an 18-4 thrashing of Northern Stars X. We hammered Koufax, and then a succession of relievers for 18 runs on 17 hits and 9 walks. I removed Ford from the trade proposal as it was getting too close to game time, and sure enough he goes 8 innings and allows just 2 runs.

It was a 4-2 game after 7, and we got 6 in the 8th and another 8 in the 9th. We got home riun from Cullenbine, McCovey, and 2 from Buxton. Cullenbine 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 RBI. McCovey, 3 hits, 2 runs, 5 RBI. Buxton, 2 hits, 4 RBI. Too much to describe, check the box score. Cullenbine a solo shot in the first and Buxton in the 4th, where Koufax later walked in 2 runs before being relieved by Bib Ed Walsh. They used 7 pitchers, and Koufax started with an 80 fatigue. This guy's not paying close attention to his team.

Game 3 of the series this evening, we face 1980 Steve Stone (4-2, 4.60). We have Zahn (3-2, 2.61) going. Back to .500 again after winning 2 in a row for the first time in like 14 games.

Just made a waiver move. Dropped a mopup guy, 1965 Don Buschhorn and picked up 2020 Jorge Alcala. He only threw 24 innings in real life, but because it was the 60 game season he's good for 65 innings here. Gives me another solid righty in the bullpen so I can start Bill Harris in the overnight game tonight. He's a starter really anyway, and the 2 guys sharing that 4th starter's spot right now are both fatigued.

Zahn (5 runs in 8 inn.)was not as good as usual, but we won anyway because we smacked Steve Stone's *** around for 7 runs in 5 innings. This guy has his starters set to pitch in relief a lot. He had Kluber throw 44 pitches in relief.

Three wins in a row and we're back up over .500. Four hits for Speaker, and Harry Agganis plays for McCovey and is the Star of the Game with 3 doubles and 4 RBI. Three hits for Cochrane too. Schofield gives Helms a day off and gets 2 hits, raising his average to .389. We are finally starting to hit as a team. Even Yogi had a 2 run triple. Except for Gates Brown the bench has been awesome so far. Agganis has a 1.320 OPS, and Buxton, Schofield and Chad Allen are all playing great,

THREE STARS
1. Harry Agganis - 3 for 5, 3 doubles, 2 runs, 4 RBI
2. Micky Cochrane - 3 for 4 and a walk, 2 runs, RBI
3. Tris Speaker - 4 for 6, 2 runs

Series finale overnight tonight. 1931 Bill Harris (2-1, 4.50) for us and 1972 Holtzman (2-4, 5.94) for them. Bullpen well rested after just going one inning last game.

Just curious why the 10% penalty on transactions?

Anytime you claim a player from waivers, there is a 10% transaction fee. This means that you have to have enough cash, either from releasing a player or just left over to cover the new player's salary plus 10% more of that player's salary.

But why the fee?

I'd say so owners just don't play musical chairs back and forth with players. Like one guy is fatigued so you just exchange him for another guy who arrives fresh, pitches one game, and then you trade him back in for the guy you just dropped, who will also arrive fresh.

There's gotta be come cost involved to prevent **** like that.
