This may sound dumb, but I didn't take Frank Thomas because I dislike the White Sox. Lived in Chicago for many years. Couldn't stand their announcer "Hawk" Harrelson. Listening to his catch phrases revolving around "Big Hurt' nauseated me. I would have taken Dick Allen though if Ron didn't select him. There is luck involved in this type of draft and things have not fallen my way. So I'll take players I like even if they aren't the best.

Hawk Harrelson is basically the only reason I cared that MLB.tv had the choice between home and away broadcasts. As someone completely neutral to the White Sox, he was so obnoxious to listen to.

I was a White Sox fan during the Frank Thomas years (I live near Chicago). I guess I got kind of used to Hawk Harrelson, so he didn't annoy me as much as others.

I always had the White Sox games on, but I was never one to sit and watch every second of the game. I will say that during that magical 1994 season, when Frank Thomas was at bat, you stopped everything you were doing and watched. He was pretty amazing.

A Sox fan drew the Cubs for this league :) Sox have an interesting history from the Black Sox to the Go Go Sox to Bill Veeck dressing the players in shorts and Disco Night. Glad your fan base finally won in 2005. That 94 season was magical for Thomas and Bagwell. Never saw those types of numbers in my lifetime until then. Should have been the Expos year, but we'll never know...

I will start a clock on Wednesday morning. I am going to make the time slots every 30 minutes from 11 AM EST – 10:30 PM EST for a couple of reasons. I don’t want to force guys on the West Coast to have to pick before 8 AM and the first 10 picks or so in any round are clearly the most critical to get right.

I will set up the first couple of timed rounds on the draft board and then send a site mail to everyone just to make sure we are all on the same page.

That works. Thanks Husker I know that makes for a lot of work for you now. Now people will Have to make picks on time or at least get someone to do a proxy for them. I suggest everybody pick out a partner or two to look after each other with proxies. I am available for quite a bit of the times as I am retired with not much going on unless my wife makes me do stuff that I don't want to do. It happens.
I can help anyone out until 10:15 CDT when my wife and me go to bed and the lights go out..You know what happens then.... Thats right .... sleep

I am sorry...I checked before I left work this afternoon and was still quite a few picks away. I have an unexpected family emergency come up and just realized I didn't get back or pre-send a proxy as I have for the past 4 rds. I will post a pick in the next 5 minutes.
