it didn't start off bad, but those three quick ones that got Beninati hooked killed you. You get paid like a pimp Serg?
i guess i need to make some adjustments to my strategy. or something

took home just over $3.5 mill for our first game

well, to be fair, you got thrown in with the heavyweight champ your first pro fight. There's reasons he won it all last season, and is probably the favorite to do it again this year. He's got you outspent 4-1. You'll mop up the AIs and find Finnski, Wombats and Rustybaldez closer to your weight class until you've got the revenue stream flowing to where you can spend bigger.

Mos def play with the lines and settings though. Get a feel for your team and the game so when you have some ammo, you know what you want to spend it on.

i adjusted my strategies. how often should i use my profits to upgrade my things? what's a good base of available cash to always keep around for emergencies?
7/20/2011 9:02 AM
IMO, cash in the bank is cash wasted. Your payroll is about $850K/gm, so that + whatever your travel costs is what you're going to lose on road games. That amount is the most you should keep in reserve. If you're saving towards a big upgrade, that's one thing, but there are no 'emergencies.'

Big upgrade = $25M for level 4 arena, for example.

= resign me now, I may even take a pay cut if I fucked you when you first signed me as a free-agent.

= I'm a game or two, or maybe a day off from practice away from cutting you a deal.

= You're making me work too hard, you never let me play, you're not fair!

= I'm thinking about asking for either a trade or my binky..

= actually thinking about quitting on you.
found a guy actually crying. On MY goon league team. Three actually. Of course one was a guy that just got cut from Speedy's team, so I just have to tell him he's in a better place now, and he'll be fine.

Major math news: (snore)

I figure that, if I ran my payroll up to around $168M, I'd hit the point where my income from home games would just offset the losses from road games. At my current payroll of almost $92M, I make almost exactly $4M more on home games than I lose on road games. Simple math, if I added $76M to my payroll somehow, I'd be adding $2M in expense to both home and away games meaning: instead of making $6.644M at home and losing $2.665M away, I'd be making $4.6M at home and losing $4.6 away.

Since i have Level 9 everything, that is, no way to increase revenues, that appears (roughly) to be the true salary cap (with a break-even point) in the Superleague. With >$360M in the bank, I could probably stand to lose money for a li'l while before actually ending up in the red, but not forever. (For the new guys, $35M in the red = team bankrupt and would you like to begin again?)

So for the rest of the league, Speedy, Probie and I can't spend forever and ever without end. Probie is roughly at $130.7M, Speedy is at $128.9M, Atrain is at $94.4M, I'm at $91.9. Also, if you were spending conservatively, not knowing how far you could go, there it is, once you've got Level 9 staff, marketing and a 22,000-seat arena.
