Scary thought, eh? Luckily, I married a woman much better than me. They at least have a chance.

Topic of the day: 14th amendment (For CCCP)

Have at it. You may take the reigns.

To be fair I only want to amend this part: 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ... The 14th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on July 9, 1868, and granted citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States.

When it was written the intent was to give former slaves citizenship but now it has become a burden. Illegals are using this to come over to the US illegally, have their children, who are automatically citizens and then they live off our people and our resources. People here want universal healthcare but I don't see that as an option until this gets ratified. The only other country that has that same law/rule is Canada and they are not bordered by Latin America, where many illegals come from.

My question is do we compromise and head toward Universal Healthcare but in turn ratify Section 1 of the 14th Amendment to where at least one parent has to be a US citizen for the person born here to automatically become a citizen? Now I say head toward because we would still need to address the tax issue and education costs. But this is not feasible until we address the automatic citizenship issue because simply the mathematics are impossible to predict then or at least a lot more difficult.

I welcome your thoughts. I also ask for civility. Yeah, I throw fastballs but I'll try to be better in this thread out of respect for KO.

NOTE: Currently Medicare is due to be bankrupt by 2026 and SS by 2031.
