i've never tried the zone at DIII, but i've seen some very strong teams that run it...
in my experience at DI, its been very inconsistant.

I'm not saying that zone doesn't work but it doesnt completely hide terrible defenders. I was nieve enough to believe I could win using zone with terrible defenders. This obviously was not the case and now i'm going do one of two things: 1. switch to man def or 2. recruit better defenders

DE rating is "important" no matter what defense you run. Some defenses it matters more than others. I noted it last season in Crum with my Iowa State squad, who averaged mid-80s for DE rating but ran press. The result was a good press defense, but when that didn't work my opponent shooting percentages were still abyssmal (like 28% 3-point % against for example).
It is debatable how important the DE rating is, but it does certainly factor into the overall equation.

Not quite as detailed as last season, but hopefully entertaining non the less.
I really liked the addition of the 3rd team voting. There were some kids that got voted for first team by one coach, and didn't show up on the ballet of another. Seems to be a much tougher year to seperated talent when compared to last season. If anyone has any ideas for improvement next season, I'm all ears. I believe Jared was going to help out next season, so that should make this a better read.

sorry i couldn't get to the voting in time, but thanks for putting this together taz

thanks amp...road doesn't get any easier with La Roche coming up next. They have a very solid defense and some sound perimeter players and post players.
